Acupuncture has a long and successful history in reproductive medicine and is an excellent holistic therapy to help with the journey to parenthood, whether you are beginning to prepare, are trying to conceive naturally, or looking for support with western fertility treatments such as IVF and Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART) IUI and ICSI.

Fertility Acupuncture can help to boost male and female fertility, by helping to prepare the body for conception and pregnancy and to treat any underlying conditions, such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Endometriosis or irregular cycles/lack of ovulation. We will also look at addressing the hormonal imbalances that come with such conditions, while increasing vital blood flow to the reproductive areas to improve the environment.
Acupuncture can also have success with unexplained infertility, however gaining an insight into the treatment and western medical intervention already undertaken will be needed, to build a picture around such a condition. It can help with male infertility too, such as improving s***m production, quality and motility.
Acupuncture can be especially helpful during pregnancy, it can be used to stimulate the flow of blood to the uterus and to help lift energy levels. It’s great for relieving stress too, which isn’t good for mother or baby and for relieving some of the more common ailments of pregnancy like nausea, fatigue or backache.
It can be safe and is often used in the last few weeks of pregnancy as well, helping to prepare the mother for birth. It can be used to help induce labour, to turn breech babies and to help with pain relief during the birth.
