Chair yoga offers benefits like improved strength, balance, flexibility, and posture, along with reduced stress, anxiety, and chronic pain, making it an accessible and safe way to enhance physical and mental well-being, especially for those with limited mobility. It's a gentle yet effective practice that uses a chair for support incorporating deep breathing to promote relaxation, better sleep, and improved focus.
There is plenty of free parking outside the community centre.

Even a gentle yoga practice is a great way to reset the mind and body. Eat a very light breakfast before attending and keep the self care going after class.
You might not feel as if you’re ’doing’ much in a gentle yoga class but you are actually giving your body and mind a great boost.

NERVOUS SYSTEM:
Gentle yoga, especially restorative yoga, can shift the nervous system from a stressed "fight-or-flight" state to a relaxed "rest-and-digest" state, by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system. This can lead to reduced stress hormones and improved sleep.
MUSCULAR SYSTEM:
Yoga practices improve muscle strength, flexibility, and endurance.
SKELETAL SYSTEM:
Gentle yoga can improve bone density and flexibility, and reduce the risk of osteoporosis.
CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM:
Yoga can improve circulation, lower blood pressure, and reduce the risk of heart disease, according to the Suunto website.
LYMPHATIC SYSTEM:
Gentle movement in yoga can help to stimulate lymph flow, aiding in detoxification.
RESPIRATORY SYSTEM:
Yoga practices, including pranayama (breathing exercises), can improve lung capacity and efficiency.
ENDOCRINE SYSTEM:
Yoga can help regulate hormone levels, potentially reducing stress-related hormonal imbalances.

Below is a reminder of the classes available for 2025. Please remember the Wednesday class is pre book only due to the small room size. All other classes you can just turn up - no need to book. Please bring your own mat - I do have a couple of spares if you just want to try the class out first 🥰
