During the November lockdown I will still be offering telephone or video appointments. Many patients chose to continue with the remote physiotherapy - it saves travel, reduces risk and can be booked at a time to suit you from the comfort of your own home!

I am now seeing patients face to face in the new clinic, albeit in full PPE- Lovely to be back to working with the team!

Day 25

Day 25 of 25 press-ups for 25 days

My final 25 press-ups! In total, I have done 625 press-ups....thats alot of press-ups! I managed to do it because I made the commitment, it was broken down into maneageable chunks, I had support and I had declared my challenge to others through Facebook- I used a combination of the strategies I have listed to complete the task. But when starting any exercise plan the most important thing is to make sure you enjoy it- you are most likely to keep to your plans if you have chosen an activity that you actually get pleasure from. So I am ditching the press-ups but I will continue to walk my dog, ride my bike and do online yoga!

I was nominated to take part in this press up challenge to help raise awareness for Mental Health, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), anxiety and depression that drive people to commit su***de. As we are starting to understand the long term effects of covid-19, this challenge became even more relevant. Post lockdown there has been an increase in anxiety and depression reported in our communities and post covid-19 survivors may go onto experience PTSD.

Day 24

Day 24 of 25 press-ups for 25 days

If you are recovering from an illness- or covid-19 - start small. Build up your exercise tolerance by incrementally increasing your activity carefully. Too much too soon may result in increased fatigue and stop you from continuing with more activity the next day. So pace yourself, see how you feel the next day to make an informed judgement on whether you are ready to do the same again or increase the activity duration.

Day 23

Day 23 of 25 press-ups for 25 days

When you are feeling too tired it may seem counterintuitive but physical exercise is a powerful pick-me-up. It actually reduces fatigue and boosts energy levels!

Day 22

Day 22 of 25 press-ups for 25 days

A lack of resources/equipment is no obstacle to taking part in exercise. Select activities that require minimal facilities or equipment, such as walking, cycling, going up and down your stairs. Find an online yoga or tai chi class (these are often free) or join a local walking club.

Online and Telephone Physiotherapy

I have been working in both NHS and private practice in Ludlow over the past few years but due to the Covid-19 outbreak I am currently unable to see patients face-to-face. As a result of social distancing, I am now offering both telephone or video-link consultations as an alternative until normal practice can be resumed. If you would like to make an appointment you can book directly via my website www.corvedalephysio.com.
