Protect yourself this winter – get your flu jab. Adults aged 18–64 with long-term health conditions (like asthma, diabetes, heart disease, COPD, or weakened immunity) can get a free NHS flu vaccination.
Why it matters:
▪️Last winter, 542 people locally were hospitalised with flu complications – many were unvaccinated.
▪️Flu can hit younger adults hard: those aged 18–64 with conditions stayed in hospital for over 7 days on average.
▪️The flu jab reduces the risk of hospitalisation by up to 50% – even more for those with long-term conditions.
