Love Music Hate Racism Luton

Love Music Hate Racism Luton Love Music Hate Racism Luton: Bringing our diverse community together through the power of music. It is vital that everyone gets involved however they can.

Music proves that cultures blend beautifully, creating unity and strength. It inspires positivity and celebrates the richness of our multicultural society. The LMHR campaign has a renewed importance with the increase in fascism, racism, islamophobia, antimigrant and homophobia. We think its time to reignite our national movement against racism through music. We will be hosting Local Music and arts events celebrating multicultural unity, opposing racism and those who seek to divide us. Whether you are a performer, or just a supporter you can get involved and support the antiracist movement through Love Music Hate Racism Luton.

🥳 We said that our celebrations for Luton borough’s 150th anniversary will include a number of surprises, and the first one is happening today (Wednesday 11 March).

🎶 Local music sensation Myles Smith is back in Luton this afternoon and will be playing an impromptu pop-up performance in the Hat District from 5.30pm. This is a free public event for anyone to attend, so please go along if you can to see him perform live and up close!

👏 Myles had his big break at Radio 1 Big Weekend Luton in 2024, when he played on the introducing stage. That year, his single Stargazing made it to number 1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay Chart. By 2025, he was playing on the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend Main Stage and he won the Brit Award for Rising Star of the year.

🤝 Luton Together community Meeting: Unite against the far right
**Link in bio**
Join us on 17th March at 7pm at Luton Library for an open community meeting focused on how we can work together to challenge racism and unite against the far right.

There will be community networking break out sessions followed by a panel of local community organisations sharing their work, experiences, and ways you can get involved in supporting positive change locally.

There will also be free tea and coffee.

Not everyone needs to be at the forefront of protests to make a difference. Real change also happens right here in our communities — by supporting local initiatives, attending meetings, learning from one another, and amplifying the message. 🌸

Every action counts. Even sharing this post can help spread awareness and strengthen our collective voice.

Let’s come together and build a stronger, more inclusive community. ✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻✨

We know the participants arms must be aching but what an amazing achievement to hit 100,000 points

Along with and funds were raised to also support the work that we do in Luton. A total of £1900 was raised for all 3 organisations.

Ramadan Mubarak to all of those who observe this holy islamic month.
We also ask you to remember those who are currently in and are Palestine, Sudan, Rohinghya, ughyers, Kashmir and more.
We ask for an end to all genocides and freedom for all people.
We also stand with Muslims here in the UK who are facing rising levels of islamaphobia and racism.

May Allah answer all your duas and accept your fast during this month.
Our activity will be more reduced this month but there will still be a few things we'll be part off.
We're also really looking forward to being at again this year.
We have some amazing things planned for the year including music based events and non music based events for those who hate racism but don't want to be in certain spaces.
We love Luton and we love our community
And hope that all those taking part in Ramadan have a blessed month.

Come and join us online next week to shape our in person together alliance event in Luton before mobilising on the 28th March in London.

Over 50 organisations have come together to stand against the threat of the far right. Hate is not tolerated and we must stand together against all forms from racism, islamaphobia, antisemitism, transphobia, ableism and so much more.

We're excited to do this as our amazing Luton community and everyone is welcome whether you're just learning, have first hand experience or you're a veteran activist.

As we come to the end of the year, we want to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Love Music Hate Racism Luton in 2025 ❤️

To the performers, speakers, DJs, sound techs, volunteers, collaborators, stall helpers and everyone who showed up, donated, shared posts, or took time to connect with us — we truly couldn’t do this without you.

This year has been full of powerful moments: gigs, assemblies, workshops, stalls, conversations and community building. Every bit of it has been possible because of collective effort, care and solidarity 💖

We’re already beginning to look ahead to next year. While nothing is confirmed yet and plans are still in their early stages, there are lots of exciting ideas and conversations happening. If you’d like to help shape what’s next or get more involved, we’d love to hear from you.

You can stay connected and be part of the organising by joining:

Before we sign off for the Christmas period, a couple of reminders: • Tomorrow: Luton Green Hub Social
• Saturday: Luton PSC vigil for Palestinian children who have been murdered

We’re now taking a short pause over the holidays to rest and recharge. Wishing everyone a peaceful, nourishing holiday season and a hopeful start to the new year ✨

Here’s to continuing the work, the love and the resistance — and to bringing even more change in 2026 ❤️✊

Tomorrow is about coming together — to celebrate culture, share truth, and honour the strength of our community.

In Luton, we are more than statistics. We are activists, learners, creators; we are mothers, fathers, youth; we are heritage and future. Together we reclaim narratives that have too often been written for us, and we amplify those we are writing ourselves.
It’s a day to reflect, connect, and be proud 😊
