Sensory play doesn’t need to be complicated 👶🏼✨

You don’t need fancy setups or expensive resources… sometimes it’s as simple as:

🥣 A bowl
🥄 A spoon
🍝 A handful of dried pasta

That’s it.

Little ones learn so much through these everyday moments — scooping, pouring, exploring textures, making a mess (of course 😅)

It’s not about perfection… it’s about giving them the opportunity to explore 🤍

Save this for an easy activity on those long days at home 👀

A quick, mess-free sensory idea I’ve actually done on those “what do I do now?” days 👶🏼✨

It’s so simple:

🎨 Pop a piece of paper into a zip lock bag
🎨 Add a few blobs of paint
🎨 Seal it up (tight 😅)
🎨 Let your little one squish, smear and explore

No mess, no stress… but still all the fun of painting 🤍

And when you’re finished — don’t throw it away 👀

Add a splash of water and a drop of washing up liquid into the same bag, seal it again, and you’ve got an instant sensory bag for more squishing and exploring ✨

Two activities, one setup… we love that on a long day 😂

Save this for later 🤍

Screen time is one of those things we all think we’re getting wrong 🤍

But the truth is… it’s not about cutting it out completely.

It’s about how it’s used.

For little ones, connection matters more than the screen itself —
talking, watching together, keeping things calm and age-appropriate.

And yes… sometimes you just need 10 minutes to drink a hot coffee ☕️
No judgement here.

This isn’t about perfection.
It’s about balance, awareness, and doing what works for your family.

You’re doing better than you think 🤍

Things I wish I could go back and tell myself at the very beginning.

No amount of reading or preparation truly prepares you for becoming a mum.
The love, the doubt, the responsibility, the constant second guessing.

There were so many moments I thought I was doing something wrong, when really… I was just in a phase.

If you’re in that stage right now, wondering if you’re doing enough, if you’re getting it right, if this is normal… it is.

You don’t need to have all the answers.
You just need to keep showing up.

Save this for later.
For the hard days, the long nights, the moments you question yourself.

You’re doing better than you think.

Hi, I’m the face behind The Baby Social 👋🏼

I’m a first-time mum, currently soaking up the chaos and magic of life as a stay-at-home mum 🤍

Before this, my world was early years… BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education, PGCE in Early Years, former early years teacher, deputy manager of a day nursery, and nanny 👶🏼✨

I have just started a Level 3 Diploma in Multi Sensory Baby Development Classes with to ensure these classes are of high quality for your little ones.

I’ve spent years supporting little ones through those all-important early stages — and now I’m living it myself from the other side.

And honestly?
Nothing prepares you for how much you need your people.

That’s exactly why I’m creating The Baby Social — a space for babies to learn, play and explore…
and for mums to connect, chat, and find their village 🤍

✨ Classes coming to South Manchester and Cheshire areas late 2026 / early 2027 ✨

Follow along from the beginning — I can’t wait to build this with you.

A whole year of you.

My 2025 baby is turning one, and I don’t think anything could have prepared me for how emotional that feels.

This time last year, I was waiting to meet you.
Now I can’t remember life without you.

There were long nights, moments of doubt, and days that felt endless.
But somehow, the year itself has passed in a blur.

All the little things I once found overwhelming are now the things I wish I could hold onto for longer.
The feeds, the cuddles, the way you needed me for everything.

You made me a mum.
And that has been the most beautiful, overwhelming, life-changing year of my life.

I wish I could slow it down.
Just a little.

If you have a 2025 baby too, I know you feel it.
How did it go so fast?

I’m a first time mum, and I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding for 10.5 months.

There have been moments where it felt easy, and a lot where it didn’t.
Long nights, second guessing, wondering if I was doing it “right”.

No one really prepares you for how much of a learning curve it is. For both of you.

This post is everything I wish I’d known at the start.
The things that would have reassured me on the harder days.

If you’re in it right now, questioning yourself, feeling overwhelmed or unsure… you are not alone.

Save this for later.
Come back to it on the days you need a reminder.

You’re doing better than you think.

What part of your feeding journey did you find the hardest?

You don’t need to rush your baby’s development 🤍

So much of what they’re learning is happening quietly, in the background — through play, connection, and everyday moments.

From recognising your voice to building millions of brain connections every second… it’s all adding up 🧠✨

Save this for later 📌
You’ll want to come back to this when you start wondering “are they doing enough?”

They are. You are. 🤍
