Check out the latest course folks and please share it around!

The prehistory of Ireland is fascinating and anyone who knows me knows how much I love the skills our ancestors possessed. This course is entitled 'Ancestral Skills' as we will be learning about the skills and knowledge of the prehistoric.

Knapping flint into spear heads arrow heads or hand axes,
Tanning fish skin into useable leather,
creating glue from tree sap and charcoal
Turning plants into cordage
Creating fire using ancient methods

all this and more will be covered on this 2 day course.

There is also the added option of spending the night out under the stars!

Here is the link to this amazing course so please share it around to help me make it a success!

Should you have a list of all the things you aim to do in 2023 we hope spending more time in nature is included 🙂

Research has shown as little as 5 minutes in nature can be beneficial for mind, body and spirit in many ways. A few of those benefits include..

🌲 Increase of happiness & self esteem
🌱 Reduction of stress, anxiety, anger and depression levels
🌲 Immune system activity improvement
🌱 Lowered blood pressure and blood sugar
🌲 Enhanced performance on cognitive testing

When inhaled our bodies respond by increasing the number and activity of a white blood cell called natural killer cells or NK. These cells kill tumor and virus infected cells in our bodies.

One study showed increased NK activity from a 3 day, 2 night forest trip lasted for more than 30 days"

Now you know why we love the trees 😀🌲🌳

Dog Rose (Rosa canina). A wonderful climber which grows everywhere. Look for the gorgeous white 5 pettled flowers and at this time of year it’s the rose hips that come into their own. Inside each hip are numerous seeds which need to be removed if you are going to eat it raw (which is delicious by the way) as they are covered with little hairs which can cause stomach irritation. If you are going to turn into a jelly or make cordial all you need to do it blitz them up and let them settle in water. Heat gently for cordial or syrup as boiling kills the Vit c (the jelly is made just like you woukd a jam) then strain through a Muslim cloth or bag. I do this a few times with the same mixture after adding a little more water as you get quite a lot out of it.

Sugar can be added though I prefer it just the way it is. Great also made in to ice cubes that can keep longer. Store in cool place or fridge.
