On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me…
Elvis on the rotas, with misplaced bravery!
First day back, no easing in,
Kelly’s crown, and pen, he’s tackling admin!
Five minutes later it’s painfully clear…
This job needs skills beyond festive cheer 🥹
So Elvis announced: ‘Long weekend for me!’
The crown is returned to where it’s meant to be…
The rota survived and Queen Kelly still reigns,
We’ll reconvene Monday, with caffeinated brains ☕️👑

Last Thursday, Magdalena (our recruitment coordinator), Adele (our company trainer), and Zoe (our domiciliary care manager) attended the Health and Social Care Careers Event at .
They joined other Kent employers to chat with students exploring careers in care. The college mentioned that students left feeling more confident about the sector and found the day inspiring and eye-opening 💜
Many people begin their journey in social care with little or no experience and gain skills along the way. Save this if you're curious about care work, or share it with someone who is. Message us if you want to know more 💬

The festive season differs for each family. Some days become cherished memories, while others may seem busy, hectic, or a little overwhelming. When you're caring for someone, these feelings often go hand in hand.
We'll be open as usual over Christmas and New Year, ensuring that the people you care about are safe, comfortable, and in good company. Whether it's help with household tasks, medication, meals, or simply a friendly visit, we'll be here, just as we are every other week of the year.
If you'd like to discuss support during the holidays, please get in touch. You can contact us via WhatsApp on 07572 736206 or by phone on 01622 809881 💜

Some people leave a light behind that never truly goes out.
If you’re caring for someone who’s lost a loved one, you see that every day. Your mum still reaches for two mugs. The dog waits by the door at the time they used to come home. Your dad repeats the same story from forty years ago because saying their name aloud helps keep them here.
This week is Grief Awareness Week, but grief doesn't confine itself to one week. It shows up unexpectedly and settles in quietly, as if it has always been part of your life. Carrying your own grief while supporting someone else is a heavy load. What you’re doing is hard, and you’re allowed to admit that.
We can’t “fix” grief, but we can stand alongside you. We can sit with your dad and listen while he talks so that you can rest for a while. You don’t have to do it all on your own; we’ll be there for you. Always reliable, always remembering.
If that would help, call us on 01622 809881 or send a message. We're based in Maidstone and cover the surrounding areas 💜

Many of our carers began with no experience in health or social care. They joined us from shops, cafes, classrooms, factories, or supporting family at home. What made them exceptional wasn’t just a list of qualifications; it was their empathy, reliability, and their natural ability to connect with others.
If you’re someone who genuinely wants to make a difference, we’ll give you everything else you need. We fully fund your Level 2 Care Certificate and any additional training required for more complex care. You’ll be supported from day one, with a team that never leaves you to figure things out alone.
A career in care is more than a job; it’s a chance to make a real impact every single day. If you’re ready for meaningful work with ongoing development and the stability of a trusted organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re hiring in Maidstone and the surrounding Kent areas. Explore our current opportunities: continuitycareservices.co.uk/careers

Winter roads and cold mornings are not fun for anyone, including your car 🥶🚗
If you depend on your car for work, school runs or visiting family, it’s worth getting it checked before the cold really sets in. A lot of us are doing early starts and late finishes at this time of year, and if you’re often driving in the dark, a quick ten-minute check now is better than breaking down before a shift.
Halfords are offering a FREE 5-point winter car check. They’ll look at:
🔌 How healthy your battery is
💡 Your headlights and brake lights
🌧️ Your wiper blades
💨 Your windscreen for chips or cracks
🚦 When your MOT is due
You just book online, choose your nearest Halfords, and the check itself is completely free.*
*Some city centre stores are excluded because of parking rules – full details are on the Halfords website.
Learn more about how you can keep your car healthy with the Halfords free 5-point car health check. Book online today.

It was a muddy Monday at Lainey's Care Farm for Keelie and Ellie where they were on the go all day! 🥾🐑
They started with the basics: feeding the chickens and ducks, and putting down fresh hay for their beds. Then, they went to see the donkeys and goats before walking up the field to check on the sheep. There’s a new ram with the flock right now, easily identified by the orange marks on the sheep. He’s certainly been keeping himself busy! 🙊
Keelie and Ellie helped herd the sheep from the top of the field back down to the pen, then picked apples to give as treats to the pigs and chickens. To finish the day, they headed back to the quiet room to join Tess and start making little stuffed mice ready to sell at the Christmas event 🎄
If you’re reading this thinking, 'someone I love would really enjoy that, if they had a bit of help to do it safely,' send us a message, and we can talk about what that support could look like 💜

International Men’s Day: looking after men’s health 🫂
Men’s health doesn’t always get much airtime, especially with Christmas chaos and concerns just around the corner. International Men’s Day is a good point in the year to pause and check how things are going – for you, or for someone you care about.
Small changes can often be the first sign that something's not quite right, and these could show up through:
- Sleeping much more or much less.
- Feeling more irritable, flat or withdrawn
- Losing interest in usual routines or hobbies.
- Avoiding GP appointments or health checks
If several of these sound familiar, in yourself or someone close to you, it’s worth noting what’s changed and mentioning it to a GP, nurse or another professional you trust. If you’re worried about someone’s immediate safety, contact emergency services or NHS 111. Samaritans are available 24/7 on 116 123.
Continuity of Care Services provides care at home in Maidstone and across Kent. If you’d like to talk through support at home for yourself or someone you know, call 01622 809881 or send us a message 💜

We wanted to share that Oliver, one of our clients, and his mum Carol were featured in BBC Kent news this week! 💜
Oliver is 22 and has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Before The Point’s new SEND facility opened in Tonbridge, he was travelling over an hour each way to Canterbury. The journey was exhausting and his needs couldn’t be met there.
As Carol said: ‘Without this new facility, he’d have nowhere to go.’
Oliver now attends The Point locally, learning catering, and making new friends! We’re incredibly proud of our team for playing their part in making this possible for Oliver and Carol.
The Point is part of a £1.8m project to expand the SEND provision at The Oaks Specialist College.

Today, we remember the heroes who gave their tomorrow for our today.
We reflect not only on the battles fought, but on the love, hope, and humanity that rose from their sacrifice.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them ❤️

We aim to provide a service which allows our clients to live safely and securely in their own homes and to enhance their lifestyle to help them to be independent and comfortable.
Our approach is based around the idea of working with our clients. We provide the level of care which you think you need rather than according to some pre-set plan.
Often the care needs are first identified by relatives, particularly in the case of older clients, and we always consult everybody concerned when putting together a care plan for your loved one. We also report back regularly on problems and successes to ensure that everyone who needs to know, including social services and medical professionals, is kept in the loop regarding a client’s welfare.
Experience has taught us that every client has a different set of care needs. We also know that care requirements can change over time. We aim to approach every situation on an individual basis because we are aware that what works for one person will not be appropriate for another.
Above all we aim to to treat all clients with the dignity and respect which everyone deserves. We believe that you know your care needs or the needs of a loved one better than anyone and this is always our guide.
