🌊 How aquanatal yoga supports your breathing..

The gentle pressure of the water naturally slows your breath, helping you breathe deeper and feel more space through your ribs. Moving with your breath in the pool feels calming and supportive, easing tension and helping you stay relaxed during effort. A really helpful skill for both pregnancy and birth.

Float, breathe, connect 🤍

If only real life ran at this speed when I’m trying to tidy up after the kids 😅

Behind the scenes of this one-woman show there’s class planning and scheduling, marketing, invoicing, replying to enquiries and DMs, lugging around equipment, pool water testing, cleaning, health & safety compliance, risk assessments, CPDs, emotional support to clients, and lots of learning (and tea and coffee ☕️). To name some.

Add in mum life and working in the pool to teach swimming, it’s a constant juggling act… but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I do it for the love and I hope it shines through!🤍

I’ve been having more and more open conversations with mums about mental health..feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, or just not quite themselves. A journey I know through my own experiences.

One thing I’ve noticed is how powerful small moments of support can be. Being in the water, moving gently, taking time to breathe, and sharing space with others who are going through a similar season can really help ease some of the weight, even if just for a little while.

Aquanatal often becomes a calm pocket in the week. A place to slow down, feel supported by the water, and connect with other mums who get it. There’s no pressure, no expectations. Just space to be exactly where you are.

But I also want to say this clearly: if you’re struggling with your mental health, you don’t have to cope alone. Reaching out to a professional, a friend, your midwife, GP, or a support service is so important, and it’s a sign of strength, not failure.

If this resonates with you, please know you’re not alone, and help is always worth reaching for 💙

Thank you so much for the review 🥰 Bringing my classes to Rayleigh was totally out of my comfort zone- I don’t know the area well or knew of any local pregnancy businesses to connect with. I’m lucky to have had such lovely mums find me and come along to classes! ❤️

Pregnancy backache? You’re not alone 💙

As your bump grows, your posture shifts and your back works overtime. That’s where a focus on the spine within my aquanatal yoga classes can make a real difference.

✨ The buoyancy of the water supports your bump and spine, taking pressure off your lower back
✨ Gentle movements strengthen the muscles that support your back
✨ Warm water helps ease tension and stiffness
✨ You stay active without the strain of land-based exercise

Many mums-to-be find they leave class feeling lighter, looser, and more comfortable, both in body and mind.

If backache is slowing you down, join the waiting list to feel the difference for yourself 💦

Thank you so much for the review! 💛

Gosh! Who else gets anxious about attending a class on their own? 🙋🏼‍♀️ Me too! I’ve always struggled with social anxiety, so I completely understand how daunting that first step can feel. That’s exactly why I try my absolute best to make every class feel welcoming, friendly, and inclusive.

Once you’ve taken that first class, you’ll soon find yourself feeling comfortable, supported, and right at home ❤️

How did Lotus Aqua start?

Hi, my name is Hayley and I am the owner of Lotus Aqua.

Following over 13 years within the insurance industry, I was given the opportunity to revisit my dream of teaching swimming. Upon completing my STA Level 1 Swimming Teacher qualification, I was blessed with the news that I was expecting my son. This quickly gave me the drive to complete my STA Parent & Baby Swimming Teacher qualification, before my son arrived.

After the birth of my son, I was unfortunately made redundant whilst enjoying my maternity leave and found myself at a cross road in my life. I had to think hard about what career path I wanted to take, which also allowed me to enjoy watching my son grow up. I absolutely loved being pregnant and something in my head kept nagging me that this was the direction I needed to go, but I also LOVED teaching swimming. So, in 2018 whilst my son was 1 year old, I studied hard and completed my full STA Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification and my Water Fitness Ante & Postnatal Exercise Qualification.

In November 2018 I launched my very first aquanatal class in Marks Tey and since then have expanded to 5 classes a week in Marks Tey, Maldon and Chelmsford, delivering classes to over 50 mums-to-be a week! It's been challenging but highly rewarding and I have met some lovely ladies along the way.
