Nice morning spent once again in the Wellbeing garden at RHS Garden Bridgewater. This area is closed off just for us,for our sessions here .One group member described it as βan oasis of calmβ ππΏπΈ
Gardening can be a full body work outπͺπ»!
We always do lots of functional movements in these sessions- (movements which mimic activities we do in daily life, which can help to maintain muscle mass, which can in turn help with treatment side effects, such as cancer related fatigue. Some of these movements include:
Pushing and pulling-Raking,and using a wheelbarrow engages the shoulders, back, and arms!
Reaching and twisting -Pruning and planting require flexibility and strength!
Squats and Lunges-Essential for planting, weeding, and working close to the ground, which engages legs and core muscles!
