There’s 12 weeks left of the year.

(Scary init!?)

My coaching program is made for you to get the most out of those weeks,

To finish the year strong,

Not spending the rest of the end of the year on and of it every other week

Before heading in to January having regained a load of weight and needing to start again.

There is never a “right” time, there’s only now.

And the sooner you start, the sooner you finally see the changes you want.

So if all of this sounds like the support you need, just comment COACHING below or drop me a message and say hello!

I’d love to help you.

(My prices will increase in January- so get in now!)

I think is wildly wrong on this one

I’m also over trying to shorten my point in to 60 second videos so you’re going to have to manage your attention spans and read 😂

PS: I think what Joe wicks has done for the UK from an exercise perspective is incredible. It’s the advice on nutrition that I think is harmful and needs to be addressed.

Everyone starts somewhere

The person in the gym who you think knows it all, did their first session once.

Someone who’s lost 100 pounds, once lost 1.

I went through years of feeling daft with this stuff, looking like a tit in the gym, getting annoyed I wasn’t losing weight and self sabotaging my own efforts.

But I’m glad I did,

I’m grateful for the version of me who made a ridiculous amount of mistakes and excuses for himself.

Because the difference isn’t those things happening, it’s showing up for long enough that you learn from them.

And if you don’t go through that stage, you’ll never get to the end result.

If you’re struggling with weight loss and you want help to work through it and finally get that end result, drop me a message

It’s not going to happen overnight,

And the scales aren’t going to drop just because you’ve eaten a salad,

An “unfortunate” reality is that change takes longer than you’d like

But I use the word unfortunate carefully there.

You see, for Emer in the time we’ve worked together over the last 6 months

She’s had a full month away on holiday visiting family,
An extremely busy work calender to navigate every week
A little girl who is of course the number one priority

And she lives in Sydney, so rightfully… a love for almond croissants.

Aren’t those all the things that stop you though?

It’s not the right time because you have a holiday?
Work is just so busy?
Kids, family, social life… it’s just not the right time?

That’s where coaching comes in,

To help you learn to navigate those areas,

To put things in place with your training and nutrition to help it manageable,

And to help you start seeing the bigger picture and think longer term,

So you get to choose.

Keep letting those things be the convenient reason to stop you starting,
Or take responsibility to making the change anyway.

If it’s the latter, drop me a message because I’d love to help.

Nothing unfortunate about including all those things.

We need to take more responsibility

I posted a video yesterday about men’s mental health, therapy and the benefit I got from that process.

The comments and messages I got yesterday were really positive and I’m glad the video helped some of you.

But it also made me realize that as a coach and personal trainer, it’s something I think I (and others) need to take more responsibility for talking about

I post videos about getting the most out of the gym or protein intake far too much in comparison to talking about mental health.

I don’t think talking about mental health always has to be negative either and maybe that’s part of the problem, the perception is it does?

I need to do more and I intend to do more.

I’m not sure what that will look like yet, but it’s something I’m actively going to try and talk about more within my content, so leave that with me.

I said in the video yesterday, were told to talk, but I don’t think lads always know how and I include myself in that, but I can’t talk about health every day and not be more open about this, so I’ll try a bit more and hopefully it helps some of you too 👊

“I want to try by myself one last time”…

“It’ll be fine after this next few weeks”…

“Once Easter is out of the way, then I’ll be ready”…

“After summer, definitely after summer”…

“Now just isn’t the right time”…

“I’ll just hang on for a quiet period”…

Go on, how many of those things have you told yourself this year so far?

How many resets, start agains or health kicks have there been?

How many promises you didn’t end up sticking to?

But next time will be different, will it?

I know it’s cliche, but there isn’t a perfect time and never will be.

But the longer you put off doing it properly, the harder it becomes.

There is no shortcuts to this stuff, but coaching is as close as it comes.

Somebody to help you do it right,

To teach you how to navigate those inevitable busy periods,

And to give you results you keep year round, no matter what life looks like.

Ready to stop putting it off and start now?

Drop me a message today to begin this month 👊

Don’t let the weekends hold your progress back

Sometimes it’s actually the weeks you think “haven’t been too bad” that confuse you even more, because the small decisions end up adding up!

There’s three main ways I’d manage this so you can still enjoy the weekends as normal

1️⃣ The most common method, calorie cycling.

Hold some of your calories back during the week if you’ve got plans, to allow being more flexible at weekends.

2️⃣ Liquids and takeaways add up

Liquid calories whether that’s through alcohol or even coffees and juices, they’re generally consumed more at weekends so keep an eye on them and to be honest, if the goal is fat loss, just swerve the takeaways and cook something you enjoy instead.

3️⃣ Eating out? Think protein

Your meal out on Saturday is no harm atall to fat loss (especially with calorie cycling) but as an easy guide, try and opt for a main you know will have a higher protein content.

Pay attention to your weekend like you do your week, you’ll see a massive difference 👊

The first bit is s**t

Nobody tells you that

You’re used to saying yes

Yes to the drinks
Yes to the takeaway
Yes to the sofa, the snacks and your feet up for a treat night

You know you enjoy those things so why wouldn’t you say yes?

You’ve never seen the end result of saying no to them,

Not just saying no once either, you have say no to them for a prolonged period of time,

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not every moment, you’re not a monk, but yeh some of those choices and habits need to change for your results to change…

And at the start, honestly? It’s a bit s**t 😂

Trust me, I’ve been there and done it, you feel like you’re missing out.

But you’re not really,

And then in a month or so, when you see the results coming, it’s less s**t,

Another few months go by, even less s**t,

And over time the more you see the benefit, the easier it becomes,

Sometimes it’s just reminding yourself of that in the short term.
