Of course, we already had some of the best conventional and modified strongman / unconventional training equipment you can find, from brands like Rogue, Watson, ATX, Concept 2...

But we recently gave the gym a decent refurb:

๐Ÿ˜Give your glutes some love this Sunday ๐Ÿ˜

โžก๏ธ This sensational but super-simple move is designed to help free your glutes

โžก๏ธ Folks who sit a lot - at desks, when driving, or flying for instance - tend to have some pretty dysfunctional glutes

โœ… You only need a lacrosse ball (which you can get from eBay or Amazon amongst others), or a hard tennis ball to get this done

โœ… Find the pain and work on that area

๐Ÿšซ One word of caution: your muscles can be tight for a reason!

๐Ÿšซ If your glutes are tight in order to provide stability (a reaction to a problem), then loosening things up without solving the original problem can be the last thing you need - it can just make things worse and line you up for an injury

โžก๏ธ If you're not sure what you're doing, get expert help. You can also combine this with some additional light glute work - such as glute bridges, squats, and multi-directional lunges, to free and strengthen your glutes at the same time ๐Ÿ‘

โžก๏ธ With modern lifestyles meaning we spend hours driving and/or sitting at our desks, with our arms in front of our bodies in the same position for long periods of time, our upper back muscles can become really weak

โœ… Adding more rowing movements to your workout is a great idea for most people, helping to redress the postural challenges of daily life as well as ensuring a strong and good looking back!

In our Manchester personal training gym we use a wide variety of rowing movements with our clients.

In this vid we're using one of our favourite combinations; a landmine with the USS Enterprise row attachment (courtesy of The Gym Revolution)

๐Ÿ‘‰ Other great examples of rowing movements you can use are:

โœ…TRX body row
โœ… Single arm row (on a bench)
โœ… Bent over single arm kettlebell row
โœ… Dumbbell bent over row
โœ… Single arm landmine rows
โœ… Barbell bent row
โœ… Renegade row
โœ… Seated or standing cable rows (try single arm variations too!)
โœ… Sled pulls (another favourite at Optimised)

๐Ÿ˜Ž Add some pectoral stretches in too and you'll create a much more balanced posture!
