Halfway through! Run 14 / 28 completed this morning, and by far the most enjoyable. No dark, mean streets of Timperley, no horizontal rain, no near-drowning in puddles or by passing traffic, which have been key features of the previous 13…

And all this is for Altrincham vs Cancer and its community fundraising effort for The Christie

12 years with my own practice!

Daft as it may sound, I do sometimes forget I am a small business owner. I’ve been running my own private practice, alongside my NHS role, for 12 years, which is crazy! Surely I can’t be that old 🤣. Surely it’s not been that long since I took a gamble on whether people would be willing to come to a farm in the Dunham Massey countryside…for physio?!

But they came. And continue to come. I’ve met so many gorgeous humans over the years, and it’s been my pleasure and privilege to get them rehabbed and back to where they want to be, doing the things they love!

New website (dunhamphysio.co.uk) now launched…few things in the pipeline… onwards and upwards!

5km every day in Feb to raise funds for The Christie Hospital via a collective of like-minded small local businesses working together as Altrincham vs Cancer.

I find myself in the situation of knowing too many truly excellent people that have needed (and continue to need) The Christie over the last 12 months, so I’m so glad it’s there

If you can spare any money to donate, I’d be extremely grateful.

Finally…got round to sorting out my new website!

Bit of a rebrand too Physio Barn 👉🏼 Dunham Physio! Acknowledging the fact I’m from Dunham Massey (and the my treatment room is not particularly barn-y!)

dunhamphysio.co.uk

Still needs some content adding to the resource area, and an associates page, to link all the other great businesses

The Hewitt boys only went and did it too!

1st , with in the 9am wave and in the 10am wave. So I’d basically done my exercise for the day just trying to film them both at different stations 🤣

Ooh, , you were cheekily tough! Fab event, atmosphere was bouncing…just couldn’t quite pull off a quicker time! Felt good, and then not so good...

But if my job, both my NHS role and my private practice, teaches me anything, it’s to appreciate and be grateful for the body I have (especially the MSK (musculoskeletal - muscles, bones, tendons and cool stuff like that!) bits!). Despite some middle-age groaning, it still got me round!

Couldn’t speak at the end…until they asked to interview me, and then they couldn’t shut me up 🤣🤣🤣

35 year old female with persistent adductor pain. Previous seen by 3 other physios, with limited response to treatment. Ultimately decided that imaging was required, so referred to SEM consultant for review. MRI revealed a longitudinal tear of adductor longus (bit unusual, as no history of specific injury). Working specifically on building up load tolerance in the adductors, alongside more global strengthening around the pelvis. Using the Aspetar protocol as a guide

A very brief look at frozen shoulder - Part 1. Definitely not a definitive guide to frozen shoulder, but does outline a few key points.
