Been a while since I’ve posted and yet I witness posts that are only aimed at self elevation, promotion and sales pitches on a daily basis.

One of my clients has just informed me that his 24 year old daughter has recently passed from cancer.

Obviously devastating news for any parent but the legacy that she left on the world is incredible for a young lady of her age.

Described as selflessly considerate to the needs and feelings of others right until the very end.

This heartbreaking story compelled me to reflect and share some thoughts with the world.

I was recently asked “can you help me define my purpose in life”

Understanding that everyone is completely different in what defines them. Our values and principles guide our intrinsic motivators, which makes it impossible to answer that question instantly.

I often ask to people to start with the end in mind.

Write your own obituary!

What do you want people to remember you for? What legacy will you leave? How many lives will you have touched?

Now ask yourself - are my daily choices and behaviours taking me towards or away from that legacy?

The hedgehog 🦔 theory is often used to help define our purpose through a Venn diagram. Identifying what you’re passionate about? What are your USP’s? Finally what are your drivers?

When people lose sight of their purpose in life, they can become apathetic, disengaged and in some cases clinically depressed.

Athletes, sports people celebrities, politicians are no exception! The impact on their organisations, teams and constituents becomes self evident.

Mindset is everything, choose it wisely!
