DermSocManchester promotes awareness and education on skin disease and other dermatological conditions amongst Manchester medical undergraduate trainees. We aim to further education in the field of dermatology through symposia and lectures, as well as providing support for the British Skin Foundation through charitable events. We also provide a link between students and the British Association of Dermatologists.

May, Skin Cancer Awareness Month, is here!
Around 90% of all skin cancers are caused by over exposure to UV which means the majority can be prevented. Our sun safety talk will cover how the sun can damage the skin, how to identify both non-melanoma and melanoma skin cancers and how to enjoy the sun safely.

📢‼️OPPORTUNITY‼️📢

We are now in the process of electing the new Manchester DermSoc committee for the year 2024/25.

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who is interested in a career in dermatology and would like to be part of an active and friendly society.

The new Manchester DermSoc committee will be determined following an election. For anyone who is interested in joining the committee, the process to follow is outlined below:

1. Please read the document attached outlining all the roles available on the committee.

2. After having read the role descriptions, please select which role you would like to nominate yourself for.

3. Please email dermsocmanchester@gmail.com with the following information:

a. Your full name

b. Your university email address

c. The role that you would like to apply for

d. A 100 word manifesto outlining why you would be an ideal candidate for your chosen role

4. The deadline for submitting your manifesto is 6pm on Tuesday the 7th May.

One we have received all the manifestos, they will be collated and added to a google form which will allow our members to vote for their preferred candidate for each position. For the voting process, please ensure you use your university email. Voting will then open on the 14th of May and will close on the 28th of May. The new committee will be announced on the 1st June ready for handover.
