Only one day left until the council elections.

Remember to bring your photo ID when you head out to vote! 📸

Your voice matters, but without proper identification, you won't be able to cast your vote.

Let's make sure everyone's voice is heard loud and clear.

29/04/2024

Don't forget to make your voice heard this Thursday - 2nd May 2024 - its Polling Day 🗳️

Amidst the nonsense being spewed out by the other candidates this year's, it's crucial to stay focused on what truly matters: choosing leaders with honesty, integrity, and a genuine commitment to serving our community - I WILL offer this commitment to you!

Come out and vote against all the drivel we are being fed this year and stand together for positive change.

Your vote is your voice, and it's how we WILL shape the future we want to see.

Your vote can shape our future!

In today's challenging economic landscape balancing household responsibilities presents significant hurdles for many families, as such the importance of getting into employment is paramount. With a significant shortage of adults possessing the necessary skills to enter the workforce, vocational courses play a crucial role in bridging this gap.

As a candidate for the upcoming elections, I'm committed to boosting employment opportunities through more vocational education. If elected, I'll collaborate with organizations like the Mosses Centre and WEA to expand course offerings available within the Bury East community. It is important to help empower more people with the skills they need to thrive.

Let's build a stronger, more inclusive society together!

The prevalence of knife crime in our town amongst our youth is a pressing concern that demands immediate attention and collective action. Each incident not only threatens lives but also undermines the safety and cohesion of our community. Addressing this issue requires a multifaceted approach, including robust law enforcement efforts, targeted interventions to address root causes such as inequality and lack of opportunity, and comprehensive youth engagement programs aimed at steering vulnerable individuals away from violence.

Bury Defence Academy stands out as a beacon of positive change in our local community which is pivotal in engaging the youth. They offer invaluable opportunities for youth to thrive and grow as well as actively addressing issues such as knife crime. Through their dedication to promoting health and well-being, as well as providing boxing and martial arts lessons, they empower young individuals with the tools to not only stay physically fit but also to cultivate discipline, resilience, and self-confidence. The impact of their work extends far beyond the gym, as they instill valuable life skills that equip youth to navigate challenges and make positive choices in all aspects of their lives. By fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, the academy creates a sense of belonging and camaraderie, encouraging youth to reach their full potential both inside and outside the ring. Their commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders is truly commendable and serves as a testament to the transformative power of community-driven initiatives like Bury Defence Academy.

If elected as your local councillor I would look to continue supporting and promoting positive initiatives aimed at steering youth away from knife crime and substance abuse. By collaborating with local organisations such as Bury Defence Academy, schools, and community leaders, we can amplify efforts to provide mentorship, educational resources, and recreational activities that offer constructive alternatives and foster positive decision-making. Through ongoing advocacy, awareness campaigns, and proactive engagement with at-risk youth, we can make meaningful strides in preventing and addressing these pressing issues.

Together, let's continue to prioritize the well-being and future success of our youth.

Postal votes signed, sealed and posted!!! 💪💪

Don't let anyone take away your right to vote according to your morals and ethics. Postal votes are a convenient way to ensure your voice is heard, especially if you can't make it to the polls on election day.

Remember, it's crucial to stay vigilant and avoid any attempts by unscrupulous individuals to manipulate your vote.

Let's uphold the integrity of our democracy and make our voices count!

Recently there has been a lot of discussion regarding the astronomical costs for Friday afternoon or weekend burial for Muslims at the Gigg Lane cemetery. The cost for a Friday afternoon burial is an additonal £343.13 and £914.46 for a weekend burial.

It is crucial for the council to shed some light on this issue and ask the council to investigate why the costs are so high. Compared to neighbouring councils such as Bolton, Rochdale and Salford, Bury is substantially higher.

Unfortunately burial expenses that expensive, it is leaving many families struggling to afford proper Islamic burials for their loved ones. This isn't just about finances; it's about ensuring dignity in death and honouring our religious traditions.

If elected I will look to work with Bury Council nto why these costs are so high. Is it due to maintenance, administrative fees, or other factors?

Transparency is crucial for our community to understand why such a financial burden is placed on grieving families. Every individual deserves a respectful farewell, regardless of financial status.

A rant today unfortunately…. 😡

Im feeling disgusted by the growing piles of litter in our community! Its a regular occurrence now but it’s disheartening to see our doorsteps, streets and parks treated like an open air tip. We need to work together to make a change!

Lets try and bring a positive change on the 2nd May 2024 by electing someone that can work towards a cleaner society.
