We’re making an important change to how we deliver care across Manchester.

To continue providing the highest standard of physiotherapy, we’re bringing our Manchester services together at our Trafford clinic — allowing us to offer a more complete and effective rehabilitation experience.

Going straight from the office desk to the dumbbells? Stop right there. 🛑

If you spend all day hunched over a laptop, you need to reverse that posture before you start lifting heavy weights.

The Fix: Grab a resistance band. Get a good stretch on it, raise it over your head and down your back. This simple movement engages the muscles in your back and reverses the “desk hunch” before you hit the gym floor.

athletes, don’t skip your warm-up! 🛑

Since HYROX is heavily running-based and high-impact, you need to prepare your lower body before you hit the start line.

Here are 3 moves to prime your body:

1️⃣ The World’s Greatest Stretch: Opens up the hips and stretches the hip flexors (5-10 reps per side).

2️⃣ Pogo Jumps: Preps your calves and ankles for the run (20-30 seconds, double or single leg).

3️⃣ Mountain Climbers: Fast-paced to prep for high-impact running style.

Struggling with your Single Leg RDLs? You’re not alone.

If you find yourself wobbling around and losing your balance, it takes the focus away from the muscle you're actually trying to work (your hamstring!).

Our Clinical Lead Physio, Ste, has two simple fixes to help you get the most out of this exercise:

1️⃣ The Staggered Stance: Keep your back foot lightly on the floor for balance while still loading that front leg.

2️⃣ The Wall Support: Press your back foot against a wall. It adds stability, turning a balancing act back into a hamstring exercise!
