A huge thank you to the Rotary Heywood 2020 for their generous £100 cheque, presented to us on Wednesday 🙌

This funding has been ringfenced to support vital community education in the Heywood area, helping us deliver CPR and AED awareness sessions — with a particular focus on young people in schools and youth groups.

Opportunities like this allow us to continue building confidence, sharing lifesaving skills, and empowering the next generation to step up in an emergency.

We’re proud to work alongside organisations that share our vision for safer, more resilient communities 💚

Someone collapses — would you know what to do?

Fainting can happen suddenly, but knowing a simple 3-step response can make all the difference.

✔️ Check if they respond
✔️ Lie them down and raise their legs
✔️ Stay with them and monitor

Quick actions. Calm response. Real impact.

At Community Medics, we’re all about giving people the confidence to step in and help when it matters most.

At Community Medics, we’re always proud to support events across our communities. From small local gatherings to larger public events, our friendly and professional teams are there to help keep everyone safe while supporting organisers throughout the day.

Our role goes beyond just medical cover. We provide first aid and medical support, welfare assistance, and general event support, helping things run smoothly for organisers and visitors alike. During quieter moments, our volunteers also enjoy engaging with the public by delivering free CPR demonstrations and first aid awareness sessions, helping more people gain the confidence to act in an emergency.

As a Community Interest Company, every event we support also helps us reinvest back into our community work, including youth development and public first aid education.

If you’re organising an event and need medical cover, welfare support, or would like us to deliver CPR demonstrations for your visitors, we’d love to hear from you.

On Wednesday our volunteers were out in Whitefield supporting the Hands Up Whitefield community event at St Michael’s Hall.

Throughout the afternoon they delivered free CPR demonstrations, giving local residents the chance to learn simple lifesaving skills and ask questions about what to do in an emergency.

It was great to see so many people getting involved, having a go, and building confidence in CPR. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn with us! ❤️🚑

Wellbeing Wednesday 💚

When we spend so much time helping others, it’s easy to forget about looking after ourselves too.

Take time to recognise what adds to your wellbeing and what takes away from it. Prioritise the habits that help you stay healthy, positive and resilient.

Over the past 4 weeks, our new volunteers have been completing their Community Engagement and Community First Aider training.

We are incredibly proud of every single one of them for the hard work, dedication, and commitment they have shown throughout the programme.

It’s inspiring to see so many people stepping forward to support their communities and learn lifesaving skills. 💚

On Wednesday two of our engagement volunteers attended St Andrews church in Whitefield Bury, for the spring wellbeing, work & skills event hosted by Onward.

A great community drop in session, where our team were able to demonstrate life saving skills to the public. They even met with the Mayor, Councillor Noel Bayley, and spoke to him of around the importance of public access defibs.

If you missed out, don't worry. our team are back in the same area on Wednesday 11th March for the Hands Up Whitefield event hosted by the Bury VCFA, 2pm to 5pm.

💙 Wellbeing Wednesday

Unconscious but breathing?

Knowing the recovery position could save a life.

If someone is unresponsive but still breathing, placing them on their side helps:

✔ Keep their airway clear
✔ Reduce the risk of choking
✔ Allow them to breathe properly

Always call 999 and continue to monitor their breathing until help arrives.

First aid doesn’t have to be complicated — but it does have to be confident.
