Keeping your emotions bottled up might feel easier in the moment, but over time it builds pressure that takes a toll on your mind and body. Letting your feelings out — whether by talking, writing, or simply being honest with yourself — helps lighten the load and makes space for peace and healing. ☮️✨❤️‍🩹

💛Happy New Year 💛

As we step into a new year, I want to wish all of my clients a gentle, hopeful start to the year ahead. Remember, a new year doesn’t mean pressure to change overnight — small steps still count.
It doesn’t have to mean resolutions or reinvention — it can simply be a fresh page, taken at your own pace.

If you’ve been considering counselling or therapy, this is your sign to take that first step.

Incase you need someone to talk to over the festive period. Our Parents Helpline will be closed from 25th December and re-open on 2nd Jan.

Mental health support is being promoted at food banks across Tameside this Christmas to help residents who may be struggling during what can be a particularly challenging time of year.

The festive period can heighten feelings of bereavement, low mood, anxiety and depression, especially for people also facing financial pressures. In response, Tameside Council is working with local food banks, The Bread and Butter Thing and other partner organisations to ensure people know where to turn for help.

✨ A gentle reminder this Christmas ✨

This time of year can be really hard.
For some, Christmas brings joy and connection.
For others, it brings pressure, grief, loneliness, sensory overload, or reminders of what’s been lost or what feels missing.

If you’re finding this season difficult, please know this: you are not failing. Your feelings make sense.

A few gentle ways to look after yourself over the Christmas period:
• Lower expectations – you don’t have to do Christmas “perfectly”.
• Keep some routine where you can, especially around sleep and meals.
• Take breaks from social situations when you need them.
• Limit time with people or conversations that drain you.
• Create small moments that feel safe or grounding just for you.
• Reach out for support – you don’t have to carry it alone.

It’s okay if this season looks different for you.
It’s okay if your main goal is simply getting through.

Be kind to yourself. January will come.
And support is still here, even during the holidays 🤍

I know it's scary sometimes to feel like your own thoughts are lying to you, but once you understand that thoughts are just thoughts and they don't have to be true, anxiety loses some of its power 💗
