You're never too old. This was the last round of 3x3 minute rounds on the heavy bag. Mainly hands and the odd kick. It's been a few years since I last had a workout on the bag or pads and as you can hear I was panting a bit. But I wanted to keep power in every shot - never easy with nobody there encouraging you but I was proud of my effort in the end and happy my conditioning wasn't too shoddy.
That's what it's about, make yourself proud.

Your results may not be as quick or desirable though.

For me, seeing muscle shape is the goal too and the plan was to get in the gym once my curiosity was satisfied. It is now, so I'm back on it!

Trust me, if there's an excuse or a reason not to train, I've had it, gave in to it, regretted it.
But I've been around long enough and have had a word with myself enough times to come up with ways to get around things. Stuff that works.

I'm not a pro athlete, I've never needed marginal gains, 0.5% more to give me the edge.
I need to turn up regularly, do enough at a decent enough intensity so I can turn up again in a couple of days.

I want to enjoy training AND enjoy living.
I'm in a good place with both and extremely thankful

I could have felt daft rolling round gym floors with people more than half my age. I could have felt a wuss leaving nights out before most had started. I could feel awkward choosing the pasta over the pizza. I could have given up when my world was in chaos.

But I didn't.

And because of that I can do things lads in their 20s can't do. And you can guess how that makes me feel.

I'm not an influencer, I don't have the coolest photos, videos and appearance. But I have messages and insights to share from a lifetime of challenges, reflection and self-searching.

We're here to serve each other and if I can get one message to one person that helps them, or one post telling my story that they can relate to then I'm a happy man.

Garage session from 2020 experimenting and trying to be a cool dude adding kali elements to boxing. A few times I skimmed the bag with the right hand as I was trying to see what backhands and rakes flowed from the jab and cross. This gives 2 or 3 hits where there'd normally be 1 and I imagine* would stun (due to the surprise element) and accumulate (instead of 1 landing it'd be 2 or 3).
*I say 'I imagine' as:
1) I'm not the most competitive person and stopped sparring ages ago because
2) I hate getting hit in the face and conscious I worked customer facing jobs so a mashed face wouldn't have gone down well with my bosses😂
Bags and pads don't hit back thankfully, lots of fun, great workouts
