It’s all go prepping for the first stall Mansfield stoma meet up on Tuesday 9th Dec at the Towers. I cannot wait to catch up with fellow ostomates and see what new products are out there while the lovely Jenny helps you all discover a new level of comfort with her stoma pants. For those that don’t know I have an ileostomy and I helped develop these pants for quality and comfort as the market is slim. At the moment it is just ladies but next year our focus is men’s then expanding the range to something a little more fancy and special. It is with the help of all fellow ostomates spreading the word and the lovely stoma nurses we have got this far but we still need those likes and shares and word of mouth to get out there ###

I loved the 2 piece at first but I have found its hangs down a lot and is uncomfortable. I’m also not using it to keep the base plate on longer like I was at first because it all feels uncomfortable. I can see why it works for those who get irritated skin and need to change their bag less so keep the base plate on and just change the bag bit. Will be asking the stoma nurse if I can go back to my old bags. Everyone’s stomas are so different and we have so much to deal with which is why the aim was to create comfort in our stoma pants 🩲

Chronic fatigue and living in pain is an awful side effect for many ostomates and people suffering bowel conditions. Today is one of those days, sometimes we push and push ourselves and then crash and burn. Mainly due to the lack of support out there and more importantly awareness! I am now tucked up in bed resting with the support of my husband and family. And comfortable and snug in a nice pair of soft cotton Feedom stoma wear pants 🥰

Okay so we need to get much better at updating social media and being more active. Unfortunately the lovely Jenny and I still have our full time jobs and families and have both had some very personal ups and downs the past 6months that have meant we have had to pause progress for a little while. Take a minute to ourselves and for our families to be able to put 100% back in. We are now back on it! Pic of me on holiday re-setting ready to go!

What a fab time at our local stoma support group. Big thank you to our wonderful stoma nurses for all they do, for keeping us up to date with products and prescription changes, for being a voice for what is best for us stoma patients and all my fellow ostomates making Jenny our Wonder Woman who makes all the pants herself feel so welcome. Lots of pants given out for testing and feedback and already had some great feedback from everyone about what they would want from a good pair of stoma pants

The wonderful Jenny who makes our stoma underwear also makes bespoke active wear, hence the name freedom stoma wear by wearactiv. Jenny can also make active wear with a pocket for your stoma bag, bigger waistbands, higher waist, whatever you need. You can always email and ask.
