Yesterday we held a lovely Pamper Morning at Askham Court 💅

Our residents enjoyed having their nails done with gel polish, relaxing hand massages and, of course, proudly showing off their freshly done nails afterwards. There were plenty of smiles and a real sense of enjoyment throughout the morning.

Taking time for a little self-care is always worthwhile 💛

Yesterday, Pancake Day brought plenty of smiles across our homes 🥞

Our residents enjoyed getting involved in preparing pancakes, choosing their favourite toppings and sitting down together to enjoy them. Our kitchens were busy and the atmosphere was full of laughter 😊

In one of our homes, alongside the pancakes, lemon cake was prepared for those on level diets so everyone could enjoy a sweet treat. They also made their own chocolate ice cream, making it a real day of indulgence 🍫

Last Wednesday, our Around the World Food Tour took us to Thailand 🇹🇭

Our residents enjoyed Sweet Chilli Chicken Noodles with stir fry vegetables and the feedback says it all. One resident described it as “delicious”, while another gave it a “10 out of 10” ⭐

A big thank you to our Chef and kitchen team for bringing these flavours to the table and making it such a success 💛

Our Valentine’s Afternoon Tea on Friday was truly special 💕

The room was full of residents, family and friends enjoying time together, with live music from Stacy Rae creating such a lovely atmosphere throughout the morning 🎤

Alongside the sweet treats and savouries, our Chef and his team also prepared additional options to ensure everyone could enjoy the occasion comfortably 🍰

Last week, someone from our community suggested including more gluten-free options at our Friday Afternoon Tea and we’ve taken that on board 😊

This week’s menu includes gluten-free alternatives alongside sausage rolls and tea cakes. Many of the dishes in the photo, including the samosas, pakoras and bhajis, are naturally gluten free due to the use of Besan (chickpea flour) and Kuttu (buckwheat).

Our Executive Chef has also selected his preferred gluten-free bread and flour brands to ensure quality and flavour are never compromised.

We’ll also be offering an additional option at today’s Valentine’s event 💕

Love is almost in the air at Askham 💖

Tomorrow morning, we’ll be gathering in our Function Room for a special Valentine’s Afternoon Tea, complete with sweet treats and live music to set the mood ☕🍰

A little reminder that our Valentine’s Afternoon Tea is taking place this Friday at Askham 💕

We’re looking forward to a relaxed morning of afternoon tea, live music and good company in our Function Room. Residents can join us free of charge and relatives and members of the public are very welcome too.

Last Friday, our Cooking Club was filled with the smell of freshly made pancakes and waffles 🥞🧇

Our residents enjoyed getting involved and, of course, tasting the results. It was a relaxed and enjoyable session that brought plenty of smiles and a lot of sweet treats 🤭

As part of our new menu, we’ve also launched Afternoon Tea every Friday at Askham ☕🍰

Each week, our Executive Chef and his team will be preparing a selection of traditional afternoon tea treats for residents to enjoy together.

This week’s menu includes homemade cheese scones, homemade Paris-Brest and a selection of sandwiches, all freshly prepared on site.

We’re really excited about this new addition and would love to hear your suggestions for future Friday afternoon teas 💛
