Hi all 👋

Are you feeling Mind FULL… or Mindful?

I work with so many wonderful people, many struggle with the fullness of life because it's not all fun.

Sometimes our minds become full of everything at once:
🧠 worries
📱 notifications
📋 to-do lists
💭 “what ifs”
❤️ emotions we haven’t had time to process

It’s heavy. It’s loud. It’s exhausting.
But being mindful isn’t about getting rid of all of that.
It’s about gently choosing what we give our attention to 💚

🧠 Mind FULL says:
“I have too much going on.”

💚 Mindful says:
“I will focus on what helps me right now.”

When we shift towards mindfulness, we begin to:
• Breathe a little slower
• Feel more grounded in our body
• Notice what we actually need
• Respond instead of react
• Create small moments of calm in busy days

😊 Mindfulness can look like:
A quiet walk
Fresh air on your face
Taking a photo of something that catches your eye
Sitting with a warm drink
Pausing… just for a moment
You don’t need to fix everything.
You just need to come back to now.

Ask yourself:
“What would support me in this moment?”
"What would help me right now?"

Parenting is hard at times, this may help a little 💚

Parenting is hard at times, this may help a little 💚

Some days parenting feels calm and connected. Other days it feels loud, messy, and overwhelming. If you’ve ever felt your frustration rising, you are not a bad parent — you are a human one.

Children don’t need perfect adults. They need adults who notice their feelings, take responsibility for their reactions, and show that big emotions can be handled safely. That’s how regulation is really taught.

The goal isn’t to never feel frustrated. The goal is to model what to do when we are. Pause. Breathe. Name it. Repair if needed. These moments quietly shape how a child learns to handle their own storms.

What helps you calm yourself in hard parenting moments? Your ideas might support another parent reading.

Life is not straight forward and there can be many twists and turns along the way. Therapy is the same, we slowly work through things at your pace. We walk or ride the journey together.

The biggest step is starting. It doesn't mean you are broken, weak, incapable or more, it means quite the opposite. If you are ready for change, reach out and give it a go.

The picture above shows just some of the things therapy can help with and work on.

Hi all 🫶

I have new hobby and it fits beautifully with the great outdoors.

I've been enjoying a journey in photography for a short while now. Sometimes it's hard finding time but when I do it's great! I find it calming, grounding and deeply immersive to a level I've never known or experienced before. I love nature, have always loved outdoors yet learning so many new things through this journey.

I feel a deep connection and sense of freedom outdoors.
Therefore with that in mind I took some much needed time for me this weekend.

I still have lots to learn but it's a wonderful experience so far!

Being outdoors helps :

🌳 lower stress levels
🌳 lowers blood pressure
🌳 Improves mindfulness experiences
🌳 Redirects attention to the surroundings rather than stress/worries/anxiety
🌳 Aids your physical health

And so much more 💚

Welcome to 2026 Betty!

What a beautiful morning to wake up from hibernation, basking in the warm sunshine.

I am always so pleased and relieved when our tortoises wake up from their winter rest. It's very much a topic of conversation and care in our house, we love them so much.

Betty was one of 3 rescues last year. She has always lived outside. Though now residing in her underground apartment at the Hyman residence.

Betty is our biggest and oldest at 46 years old. She loves eating her way around the garden as well as a good back rub and a bath. Her favourite food is dandelion leaves and strawberries from time to time.

Keep your eyes peeled for who emerges next! 👀

I've joined in the fun of this AI trend 💚.

The grandkids joined me for the first pic. Just to clarify though, I don't sit around the fire with the kids with my eyes closed meditating, I am very safety conscious 🤣. However when we are in nature it is calming, peaceful and full of fun!

Outdoor therapy is beneficial in so many ways. Try it you might like it.

A Child’s Voice – After School, I Need You to Know
The Child Who Masks

Earlier today I shared the swan model.

The one that looks calm on the surface, gliding through the school day — while underneath, it’s paddling fast just to stay afloat.

This is that same child, speaking now.

When I come out of school, I’m not being “dramatic”.
I’m not suddenly difficult.
I’m not undoing all the good behaviour you were told about.

I’ve been holding it together all day.

I’ve pushed feelings down so I didn’t stand out.
I’ve copied others so I could fit in.
I’ve kept my stims small and hidden.
I’ve smiled when I didn’t feel OK.
I’ve tried to remember every rule so no one got cross.
I’ve ignored what felt too loud, too bright, too much.

And by the time I reach you, there’s nothing left in the tank.

What looks like defiance, tears, shutdown, or anger after school is often exhaustion from masking.

If this feels familiar, you’re not alone — and neither is your child.

To SAVE, click on the image, tap the three dots, and choose Save.
If you’d like the boy version, comment BOY below.

My Masking Toolkit supports parents and educators to understand masking, recognise the hidden load, and reduce the pressure children carry just to be accepted. Link in comments below ⬇️ or via Linktree Shop in Bio.

The adolescent brain is still under construction.
The emotional centres of the brain mature earlier, while the parts responsible for reasoning, planning, and self-regulation continue developing into the mid-20s.

This is why young people may feel things more intensely, respond quickly, or struggle to pause in the moment — especially when overwhelmed.
This is development, not defiance.

For neurodivergent young people, these differences can be even more pronounced.
Sensory processing, emotional intensity, and social fatigue can all shape how feelings show up and how support is needed.
Their brains are not behind — they are building pathways differently.

When we understand the brain, we can meet young people with connection, patience, and co-regulation, rather than correction or criticism.
This is how emotional regulation skills grow over time.

Counselling isn't about being 'broken'. It's about giving yourself space to breathe, reflect and grow.

Life is so fast paced these days and taking time out can be hard and feel heavy.

We all need a space to allow everything to just settle, to breathe and reflect.

You deserve a space, you are worth the investment, your mental health matters 💚

Therapists don't 'fix' people - we sit with them while they remember they were never broken.

At times we feel broken and that life won't get any better. When people come to see me, we work hard together on building back up. I support their journey from where they are by sitting or walking beside them, unpicking a variety of things to ease their load, awaken new thinking and empower them for their future.

cares about you.

Thank you to for the pic🙏
