Dear All,
We hope that you have all had a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year!
Here at Basic Life Support Consultancy, we have 4 trainers that deliver our first aid courses, of those 4 trainers 3 of us are also front-line medics. I am a Paramedic working for our local Ambulance Trust and responding from home for the charity Suffolk Accident Rescue Service. Having spoken with my colleagues about the situations they are facing and following the Government’s announcement on Monday. We as a company have decided to cancel some of our upcoming open first aid training courses.
This is not in keeping with our Governing Bodies advice, they believe that with the measures we have in place we are safe to continue, we do not feel comfortable with this advice given the current state of our A&E’s, a huge percentage of admissions are now COVID-19 patients, this new variant is obviously so much more transmissible.
With everybody being told to work from home where possible, to only travel when necessary and the schools being closed to most of the population it seems wrong to bring a group of people together for open training, we are still happy to come into a workplace and train for a single employer.
We are therefore cancelling the following courses
First Aid at Work – 3-day 13th – 15th January
Paediatric First Aid – Bury St. Edmunds 23rd & 30th January
Emergency First Aid at Work 29th January
Paediatric First Aid – Haverhill 6th & 13th February
Emergency First Aid at Work 24th February
First Aid at Work Requalification – 2 day 24th & 25th February
I hope you can understand. If you have any queries, please let me or Emma know.
Stay safe!
Steve Murrow
