I would like to expose a situation. If your children (or grandchildren) don’t learn to play with children with special needs at school, maybe you should spend 10 minutes tonight explaining it to them. Because, although they don't currently live with these children, at school they will find them in their lives for sure. In light of recent events regarding the exclusion of a child with autism from attending a school trip and a child with Down Syndrome being expelled from dance class because she couldn't keep up with it, I feel the need to share this.

There are boys and girls that no one invites to birthday parties. There are special children who want to be part of a team but are not selected because it's more important to win than to include these children. Kids with special needs aren't weird, they just want what everyone wants: to be accepted!

Can I ask a question? Is there anyone willing to COPY AND PASTE this post on their wall for all the special children out there?
Please teach your children to be kind to these beautiful children!
Everyone needs love and kindness💙💛💙💛

A colleague of mine is offering 6 subsidised counselling sessions for a case presentation for her Level 5 Diploma. The case study would be completely anonymised and only read by the governing body and then deleted afterwards.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is looking for counselling. I have personally trained with her throughout my journey and can vouch for her integrity and confidentiality.

She has a lot of experience working with people who suffer with depression, anxiety and trauma. Whether this be current or childhood.

If you are interested please let me know and I will forward your details to her so she can get in contact and have a chat.

What do all these men have in common? Aside the obvious!!!! They are all human. They all have needs, emotions and feelings. Some of them may have been taught that it isn’t “manly” to show these needs or emotions, that “boys don’t cry”. Some of them may have been told to “toughen up” or “fight back”. Some of them may have been ignored and learned that there was no point to even try……

Then theres social media, with its unrealistic standards of what men should look like and act like. A steady supply of messages that demonstrate what success and happiness looks like.

Now, I know this applies to women as well, it applies to all of us. However, the difference is that, statistically, more woman will come forward for support when they need it. Women are more likely to hear that “it’s ok not to be ok”

Male su***de is on the increase, with su***de being the foremost cause of death for men under the age of 50. Three-quarters of all male deaths registered in 2019, were from su***de.

So what can we all do to help? Can we try and change this narrative? How can we make a difference?

Can we start to teach our boys, from a young age, that it is “manly” to have feelings. Can we teach them to embrace all the different emotions and help them to work through them rather than push them away for fear of looking weak.

What do you think? ***deprevention ***deawarness ***deawareness
