Why does Active Gold benefit local businesses? 🤝

One thing people might not realise is the footfall Active Gold brings into our town centre every week.

We run exercise sessions Monday to Friday from 08:30–16:00, with 10 classes a day, each lasting 45 minutes.

On average, around 6 members attend each session, which means around 60 people visit Active Gold every day.

Over the course of a week, that’s 300+ visits into the town centre from our members alone.

And our members don’t just come for exercise — many of them:
☕ Grab a coffee before or after a session
🥪 Visit local cafés
🛍 Pop into shops while they’re in town
🚶 Spend more time in the local area

For many members, their Active Gold session is what gets them out of the house and into the community.

That means more people in the town centre supporting local businesses.

🎉 BIG NEWS FROM ACTIVE GOLD! 🎉

Today is a huge day for us! Thanks to your incredible support, we’ve now hit our £3,750 target on our crowdfunder 🙌

This means Sport England will now match it with £7,500, which takes us to an amazing £11,250 raised towards our £15,000 goal!

We honestly can’t thank everyone enough who has donated, shared the page, told friends, or supported us in any way. It really does mean the world to us and to all of our members. 💛

Now we’re heading into the final stretch, and we’re going to be pushing hard to reach that £15,000 target so we can make the Active Gold extension a reality and help even more people stay active, improve their mental health, and feel part of a community.

We’re getting closer! 💙

So far our amazing community has helped us raise £3,431 towards our £15,000 Crowdfunder target — thank you to everyone who has supported us so far.

Once we reach this, £7,500 of match funding from Sport England will appear on our Crowdfunder page. 🎉

However, it’s important to know that we still need to raise our £7,500 share to unlock that funding — meaning we must reach the full £15,000 target for the project to go ahead.

🎉 We’ve Smashed £2,500 – Now at £2,586! 🎉

WOW. We didn’t just hit £2,500… we’ve gone past it and reached £2,586!! 🙌

A huge thank you to every single person who has donated, shared, commented and supported us so far. It honestly means so much to us and to the people in our community who will benefit from this expansion. 💛

This milestone is amazing — but we’re not stopping here. Remember, we need to raise £7,500 ourselves to unlock the match funding from Sport England. It’s an all or nothing campaign, so every pound gets us closer to securing the full amount.
