You’ve been summoned to join a jury service like no other as The Reach Out Project presents ‘Saint Town’, a fresh gritty tale devised from scratch by the young artists of Mitcham’s community youth theatre, where you help to decide the fate of the characters.

In the heart of Mitcham, we follow Dwayne, Demi, Lily and Jay as their desire to be accepted leads them to some tricky choices as a result of the gang presence on their estate, and ultimately to a brutal consequence that no one could’ve predicted... But when you are with your friends and you are about to do something you know is wrong how do you pluck up the courage to say no?

In response to the question ‘What do you want to speak to your community about?’ The ReachOut Project members wanted to tell a story of ‘how to avoid following the wrong crowd’. Through the creation of scenes, characters and establishing a narrative, the group have gone on an exciting journey to portray real issues and the complexities involved in young people making healthy choices and decisions. Ultimately, their actions wind them up in a serious consequence that lands them in court.

So here it is, you've been summoned for jury service. Our performance will culminate in an interactive element that’ll involve the audience in the discussion. As the decision must be made who’s innocent and who’s guilty?

We’re looking for a community audience to attend the production, next Friday 16th January at 7pm at the St Mark’s Family Centre in Mitcham. Tickets are £2 and can be booked by emailing integrARTy@gmail.com or calling Lorraine Keene (Artistic Director) on 079 0695 0695, or just turn up at the door!

We are very excited to announce a new opportunity for those 14+ from Merton to develop their leadership skills. Integrarty Theatre are offering a 2hr 'Leadership Skills: Introduction to Theatre Workshop Leading' course that will take place at the St Mark's Family Centre ... there will be the opportunity to contribute to the planning and delivery of a workshop at The ReachOut Project's performance in January. And the story unveils...first session back and the countdown is on to get our hard hitting tale on it's feet. Joint enterprise, following the wrong crowd and look into the dynamics of gang culture....nail biting stuff!

Great session yesterday, got our teeth stuck into some interesting scenes, plenty of scope for discovery and exploration into some gritty and deep themes. Really proud of the group's maturity and the scope of ideas and suggestions. Looking forward to the term ahead in preparation for our next community performance in December :)
