Mindfulness changes how we see the world.

When we slow down enough to truly notice, life softens.
Colours feel brighter. Moments feel fuller.

What once rushed past us begins to arrange itself into meaning.

Mindfulness isn’t about escaping life. It’s about meeting it exactly as it is. The broken pieces. The beauty. The quiet magic hidden in plain sight.

When we live mindfully, we stop waiting for life to be perfect before we let ourselves love it.
We fall in love with the texture of our days. With the small joys.
With the way everything belongs.

And slowly, gently, we realise:
Life was always offering us its heart. We just needed to be present enough to see it.

Can you bring mindfulness into your day today or is your mind already to full?

Today I went back to my roots and it felt ohhhhhhhhh so good.

When I first trained in breathwork, and as a Qigong instructor, all of our training and facilitating was done as a work in silence. No music. No beats. No frequencies guiding us anywhere. No distractions. It was all about escaping the noise, the outside world with its chaos and coming inward, to the sound of the breath, the self and the connection.

Just breath, just body, just Intention and attention. That connecting to your heart beat was intense and immensely powerful.

Ideally where possible we would practise outside, letting nature be the only permitted soundtrack. The wind, the birds, the subtle rhythm of life itself. The practices were about removing distraction, not adding stimulation. Energy and intention stayed with self, not pulled outward.

Even at a retreat I attended with my instructor the work was done in silence.

Over time, for me things evolved In studios, workshops, ceremonies breathwork and Qigong I introduced more and more music, beats and frequencies. Although I loved the stillness with no sound I was mindful of music and just how powerful and freeing it can be. It can lift, soften, move, rupture, capture and release. Some bodies need rhythm to feel safe enough to let go. Some nervous systems settle more easily with something soft and silent to lean into.

And yes… I am partnered in life with a DJ. So Music is woven into our lives. So suggesting silence can feel almost rebellious in a very musical household.

This morning I guided a somatic release breathwork session with full on fresh funky beats and sound. It packed a punch. This afternoon, with a very special client, we worked very differently with nothing but the breath. Right back to my original roots. No background noise or distraction’s No forced atmosphere, instead Just presence.

I have been blown away with both.

It reminded me that this is not about music versus silence. It is infact about listening. Some days the body wants vibration and energy. Other days the nervous system wants quiet, simplicity, containment. Some days true release comes not from being led but from being left alone enough to feel.

Silence isn’t empty.
It’s full of information.
And sometimes, it’s the most powerful facilitator there is.

So don’t be lead by trends and influencers be led by your breath and your body. Self recovery comes when we choose us time and time again. You choose you.

The Soulstar logo has had a glow up.

And if I’m honest… so have I.

There was a time when the star felt delicate. Beautiful, yes but careful. Polished. Slightly restrained. As if it still needed to be palatable. Acceptable. Small enough to fit.

Not anymore.

The star is centred now. Grounded. Radiant. The wings are open not asking for permission.

And that is the essence of holistic wellbeing and self recovery.

Because holistic wellbeing is not about fixing a broken part. It is about remembering you were never fragmented to begin with. You are not just a mind that needs reframing. Not just a body that needs pushing. Not just a nervous system that needs silencing.

You are an organic whole.

Breath. Body. Emotion. Energy. History. Patterns. Purpose.

When one part is overwhelmed, the whole system feels it. When one part heals, the whole system rises.

For too long we have been told to “mindset our way out” of exhaustion, anxiety, grief, burnout. To override. To push through. To think positively while our bodies are screaming for safety.

But you cannot mindset your way out of a dysregulated nervous system. You cannot shame yourself into healing. You cannot shrink your way into wholeness.

Self recovery is the quiet rebellion against that.

It is the return to sovereignty. The remembering that your body holds intelligence.
That your breath can shift your state. That trapped emotion can be expressed. That patterns can be rewired. That safety can be felt again.

It is not about being saved. It is about coming home. This new star is not softer to be liked.
It is brighter because it is aligned. It is bolder because it is integrated.
It is expansive because it is no longer afraid of being seen.

Holistic wellbeing is brave work. It honours biology and soul. Science and spirit. Regulation and expansion.

It doesn’t bypass. It integrates.

And when breath, body, mind and energy begin working together instead of fighting each other, something extraordinary happens.

You stop surviving.

You start living.

The star was never meant to be hidden.

The wings were always meant to open.

Namaste Warriors of the World

“the divine in me honours the divine in you”

This is, A recognition, A bow, A meeting of essence, not ego.

It was never meant to be trendy. Never a slogan. Never a punchline.

Somewhere along the way, Namaste became watered down, or used with irony, or to disrespect, stripped of its reverence and depth. And that’s a shame, because at its heart, Namaste is about humility, respect, and remembering our shared humanity.

It doesn’t mean bypassing pain. It doesn’t mean pretending everything is perfect, It means seeing one another even when it’s messy, sticky or tricky.

In a world that is so quick to criticise, cancel, or tear down, choosing to honour the goodness in each other is quietly radical.

So maybe Namaste is not outdated or overused. Maybe it is more needed than ever.

A reminder to soften. To pause. To recognise the light in ourselves and in others.

Let’s not come for the goodness in the world.
Let’s protect it.

Namaste with meaning, with presence, with heart.

Some photos don’t just capture a moment they carry a memory in their bones.

I remember this one clearly.
It was my birthday. A glass of wine raised in celebration.
On the surface it looked like joy, ease, normality.

But the truth?
I was drowning.

That glass of wine wasn’t pleasure it was numbing.
An attempt to take the edge off the anxiety… or so I thought.
In reality, alcohol didn’t soften anything for me it amplified it.
The next day the fear was louder, the anxiety heavier, the shame deeper.

What I needed in this moment wasn’t another way to escape.
I needed to turn towards the pain.
The hurt.
The fear I was so busy pretending wasn’t there.

Instead, I did what so many of us do.
I smiled.
I said “I’m fine.”
I pushed it all down.
I masked.
Until one day… I simply couldn’t anymore.

If you’re using habits, substances, busyness, or distractions to give yourself the illusion of safety, please hear this:

There is another path.
One rooted in honesty.
In nervous system safety.
In learning how to be with yourself rather than escape yourself.

I’m not here to judge I’ve been there.
I’m here to show you what’s possible on the other side

Choosing you can be the bravest decision you ever make. Are you ready to stop running from you.

Finishing the day here. If this resonates take the step, send me a DM and let’s start the journey back to you.

Becoming doesn’t start loudly.
However, It does start the moment you walk through the studio door at Soulstar.

It begins with that first meeting. The first breath. The first moment of connection.

That first expansion. That very first second you choose you.

Whether it’s through breathwork, massage, self-recovery, holistic therapies or Reiki, it’s in the first sound that aligns, the first pause, the first moment your body feels safe enough to soften.

Becoming isn’t about forgetting who you were or pretending you’re someone else.

It’s about being fully, honestly, intentionally so that becoming can unfold naturally.

Quietly.
Gently.
In your own time.

Are you ready to become? That best version of you, that you with a full heart and joy following, that you that has capacity to fully breath to expand and contract, to feel and to flow to choose life and have the tolerance to handle it.

Soulstar gives you the space in the mind, the body and the spirit, the space you need to fully become.

The science behind somatic release & breathwork translated.

Somatic release simply means this: the body lets go of what the mind could not process at the time.

Stress, shock, fear and overwhelm do not just live in our thoughts. They lodge in the nervous system, the fascia, the breath.

This is why “talking it through” isn’t always enough.

Breathwork works because breath is the remote control of the nervous system.

When we use a conscious, controlled breath technique we are intentionally changing the signals sent from the body to the brain. The vagus nerve receives the message: you are safe now.

This is where circular, continuous breathing matters.

No pause between the inhale and exhale means the body cannot return to its usual holding patterns. There is no gripping, no bracing. The nervous system stays engaged just long enough for stored tension to surface and move.

That movement might show up as heat, tingling, emotion, shaking, tears or deep waves of calm.
That’s not “losing control.”
That’s the body completing something it once had to freeze.

This is not forced breathing.
It is guided, intentional and deeply intelligent.

Over time, conscious breathwork teaches the body a new baseline:
regulation instead of survival. Choice instead of reaction, presence instead of protection.

This is somatic release.
Not catharsis for the sake of it but restoration.

And once the body feels safe…
the mind follows………

How safe is your body feeling? When was the last time you lent into your breath and not your thoughts? Want to truly know where your baseline is then maybe it’s time to connect.
