These are the reasons I am so passionate about the Home Ed Creative Sessions that we run here each week for 7-11 and 11-18 year olds. Art and creativity is central to helping young people develop and grow in so many important aspects of life.
"I don't want to teach you to do art like me, I want you to be inspired to create art like you!

Our Home Ed Creative Sessions are bookable via our Eventbrite page.

Here at the Creative Ewe studio we understand the challenges of finding work experience placements for young people and we are lucky to have two students joining us from local high schools in May and July to gain an insight into working within the arts. We are fully compliant with the requirements to host work experience placements and hope that having this opportunity available for local young people will support and encourage their ongoing creativity.

As a business owner I often question what sets us apart from all the rest?

Firstly there is all the stuff behind the scenes that nobody sees. Creative Ewe is a legitimate Limited Company, registered with Companies House. We have our own Health and Safety and Safeguarding policies. I have the correct public liability and indemnity insurance to deliver workshops both in and out of the studio. Workshop specific insurance for a business is an expensive but not an optional expense. I also properly risk assessments each workshop session to comply with the conditions of the insurance, this can be a time consuming activity but absolutely necessary. I have DBS clearance and I am Designated Safeguarding Lead trained which are essential when working with the public. I specialise in making adaptions for inclusivity and embracing neurodiversities and disabilities. If you have an injury or a near miss in the studio we are first aid trained, have a first aid kit that is easily accessible and an accident book to correctly record these.

Secondly, we support other artists and makers. All the tutors I welcome into the studio are artists in their own right. They are experienced and competent in the art or craft they are delivering their workshop on. We don't do paint by numbers and we don't ask everyone to create something identical. Our passion is creativity, individuality and uniqueness and our focus is on teaching techniques and methods so that its just the start of the creative journey. We operate an open door policy, you are welcome to come inside and see us at any time. We can have a chat over a coffee and a piece of cake (we do have a dedicated cake fridge!).

We keep our groups small (maximum 8) and also offer private sessions at no extra cost for those who would rather have a more personal experience, these can be daytime or evening both weekday and weekend.

Lastly, we are always looking for ways to evolve and progress. The Arts Award Qualification Scheme is coming soon for 7-25 year olds and we are exploring Art Council England funding to expand our work with teenager and other groups. Feedback is really important to us and we always appreciate reviews!

Continuing with the theme of highlighting the importance of mental health support, I am thrilled to announce that our chosen charity for the 2026/27 financial year will be Achieve, Change, Engagement- ACE

Throughout the year we will taking part in various fundraising activities to help support this valuable but dangerously underfunded local resource. We would love it if you could help us support them too!

Achieve Change and Engagement (a.c.e.) is a mental health charity based in Lancaster currently covering Lancaster District which includes Morecambe, Carnforth and rural areas.

a.c.e supports children and young people aged 10 to 25 , who are experiencing poor mental health which is impacting negatively on their emotional wellbeing, resilience and ability to thrive, following one or more Adverse Childhood Experiences.

They accept referrals into their service from young people, their parents/carers, G.P.s, school staff, school nurses, social care, police and other statutory or voluntary CYP services.
