We’ll be having a stall tomorrow selling some preloved sensory items that deserve a great new home! 🌟
There’ll be lots of amazing stalls there, and since it’s an inset day, it would be lovely to see some of your friendly faces. Come along, support the Shack, and help us raise some fantastic funds! 💛

💫WE HAVE 15 CAR BOOT AND MARKET STALL SELLERS ON THE DAY💫

🛍️Come down and grab yourself a proper bargain we’ve got everything from sweet treats 🍬, household bits 🧼, Christmas gifts 🎄🎁, homemade goodies 🧶, toys 🧸, and even sensory equipment 🌈.

❤️Our fab volunteers will be in the kitchen, lovingly serving up hot and cold food 🍔☕ and the amazing Mr Shuey will be outside dishing out his unreal desserts 🍨🍰 (honestly, you don’t wanna miss it!)

🤲Bring your mates, bring the kids, bring the whole family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 it’s gonna be a boss community day.

Due to high demand (and our weekends filling up fast!), we’re thrilled to announce a brand new Wednesday Evening Club 🎉

This midweek session is specially designed for our older superstars aged 11+ — giving them a space that’s just for them, full of fun and all things sensory!

✨ Important update!✨

It’s been brought to our attention that on Friday 14th November, many SEND schools across the Wirral will be closed for a staff training (INSET) day.

To help ease childcare pressures, we’ll be running sessions throughout the day here at The Sensory Shack, following the same timings and prices as our half-term sessions.

Children will be grouped according to their needs to ensure the day runs smoothly and everyone feels supported. Snacks, drinks, and—of course—plenty of fun will be provided, along with the appropriate support levels to make sure every child can enjoy the session in the best way for them. 💛

As most schools are closed on this day, we’d recommend booking early to secure a space!

🎉 We’ve Got Some Amazing News! 🎉

We’re absolutely thrilled to announce that our application for Chester Zoo tickets has been successful as part of their community connections scheme! 🐒🦓🦒

This isn’t just any day out — it’s our way of giving back to our incredible families who continue to show amazing support for The Shack. 💙

As the colder months roll in, it can be harder to keep our superstars engaged and active, so we’re launching our brand-new Assisted Family Days Out!! 🌟

Our first trip will be a fun-filled day at Chester Zoo, supported by our fantastic staff team to make sure every family has a safe, accessible, and unforgettable experience. 🐘🌿

🎁 The best part?
This trip will be completely free for our families — because we know how stretched budgets can get in the lead-up to Christmas.

⚠️ Please note: carers and parents already receive free entry when accompanying their child (with valid proof of carer status) so these tickets will go directly to our superstars, our support staff, and any additional carers needed to make sure the day runs smoothly and safely for everyone. 💫

A disability should never close doors — and this is our way of opening them wide, saying thank you to our wonderful families, and rewarding our superstars for being so amazing! 🧡

Yes, it’s Halloween… but I’m already thinking ahead to December! 🎅🎄

Couldn’t resist grabbing this — our superstars will be opening a door every day in December for a sensory surprise! 🌈✨

Great news — the shack has been kindly donated an upgraded toy kitchen! 🙌 Only snag is I don’t think it’ll fit in my car. If anyone has a van or knows someone local who could help us collect it, please let me know — we’d really appreciate it!

A huge thank you to our wonderful first aid trainer, Zoe from Above All First Aid, for delivering such engaging and insightful training on Tuesday! We hope we’ll never need to perform CPR in the Shack, but it’s reassuring to know we now have even more confidence and skills to act if we ever do.

Today’s epilepsy training was equally valuable — as a team, we reviewed individual care plans and feel fully prepared to respond calmly and effectively in the event of a seizure.

It’s been a busy month of learning, but the whole Shack team now feels confident in PEG and gastrostomy care, epilepsy support, and all aspects of first aid. Above all, our priority is keeping every one of our Shack superstars safe and cared for!
