🪥✨ Top Tip Tuesday – Sensitive Teeth ✨🪥

If your teeth feel sensitive, a few simple changes can really help 👇

✔ Use a sensitive toothpaste every day
✔ Switch to a soft brush
✔ Avoid brushing straight after acidic foods/drinks
✔ Be gentle around the gumline
✔ Cut down on fizzy drinks & frequent snacking

If sensitivity isn’t improving, it’s always worth getting it checked 💙

Home scalers might look tempting online, but please don’t use them 😬

⚠️ Can scratch enamel
⚠️ Can damage the gums
⚠️ Can push plaque and bacteria UNDER the gum

Always see a dental professional for safe cleaning 💙

🔩 The dental implant — a small titanium screw that sits in the bone and acts like an artificial root
🧩 The abutment — the connector
👑 The crown — the “tooth” you see in the mouth

An implant is built from the root up, which is why it looks and functions so naturally.

Simple, secure, and a great option for replacing missing teeth 💙

🦷 Top Tip Tuesday!

Struggling to reach those top back teeth? Try this 👇

✨ Close halfway instead of wide open – it creates the perfect space for your toothbrush.
✨ Then gently swing your lower jaw towards the same side you’re brushing. It opens things up even more and makes cleaning MUCH easier!

Small tweaks = BIG improvements for cleaner, healthier teeth and gums.
Give it a try tonight and let me know?

Trying for a baby? Don’t forget your gums! 🍼🦷
Good gum health is so important when you’re TTC.
Inflamed gums have been linked with lower birth weight and pregnancy gingivitis is extremely common due to hormonal changes.

✔️ Keep brushing twice a day
✔️ Clean between teeth daily
✔️ Book in for a hygienist visit if you’re planning pregnancy
✔️ Early prevention = healthier mum and baby 💛

🦷 Top Tip Tuesday 🪥🦷

Not in surgery today — I’m at a team-building day all about HABIT FORMATION 🙌

And it hit me… the same rules apply to oral health:
⏱️ Time
💡 Effort
🔁 Consistency

Master those, and your smile will thank you.
Healthy habits = healthy gums ✨

Welcome to surgery!

Dental chair: for teeth 🦷

Other chair: for coats and bags 🧥 💼

Please don’t confuse them – I’m good, but not see-your-molars-from-across-the-room good 😆🪥

🪥✨ Top Tip Tuesday ✨🪥

A super simple habit that really helps your mouth: drink water after eating 💧
It rinses away food particles, helps neutralise acids, and supports a healthier environment for your teeth and gums.

Especially helpful after:
🍊 Acidic foods
🍬 Sweet snacks
☕ Coffee & tea

Small habit, big impact 💙

🦷✨ Floss or floss picks?
Honestly… it doesn’t matter! Use whatever feels easiest for you — because if it’s easy, you’ll actually do it 👏

The key is disrupting the biofilm 🦠 between your teeth every 24 hours.
That’s what helps prevent decay, gum inflammation, and bad breath.

So whether you’re team floss, team picks, or switch between both…
Just make it part of your daily routine 🤍

🦷 Self-Check for Mouth Cancer — Quick Guide 💙
Early detection saves lives, and a simple monthly self-examination can make all the difference.

Here’s what to do ⬇️
✨ Wash your hands – clean hands are essential.
✨ Good lighting – stand somewhere bright so you can see clearly.
✨ Use a mirror – check all areas of your mouth.

What to look for:
🔹 Ulcers or sores that don’t heal within 3 weeks
🔹 Red, white or mixed patches
🔹 Lumps, swelling or thickening
🔹 Persistent pain, difficulty swallowing, or unexplained bleeding
🔹 Any changes that feel unusual for you

If something doesn’t look or feel right — get it checked by a dentist or GP.

⏱️ Do this self-check once a month.
Your mouth matters. Early detection = better outcomes 💙

🔹 Lumps, swelling or anything unusual in the mouth, tongue, lips or neck
🔹 Persistent hoarseness or difficulty swallowing
🔹 Unexplained numbness

If something doesn’t feel right, please get it checked by a dental professional or your GP.
