Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the recommendations for community centres and groups — I really appreciate everyone taking the time to respond. It may take me a wee bit of time to work through them all, but I’m very grateful!

My plan is to start offering free pop-up ear check clinics across East Lothian, aiming for one per month at different venues and groups.

The main aim of these clinics is simply to be more present in the community, get to know people, and make ear care more accessible — especially as my service is mobile. There is absolutely no pressure to book anything further. If anyone does need treatment like irrigation or microsuction, they’ll have the option to arrange a follow-up appointment, but only if and when it suits them.
I’m pleased to share that my first free pop-up clinic will be on Saturday 2nd May at 11:30am at Gullane Recreational Hall, as part of Cakes & Conversation organised by East Lothian Care.

I’ll do my best to see as many people as possible on the day, and I’ll share more dates soon once everything is organised.
Thanks again for all your support — it really means a lot!

Its always a good day to be a nurse 🥰 thank you to my lovely patient 😘

Out in the community doing what I love 😊
I’m looking to start offering pop-up ear care clinics across East Lothian in community centres, church halls, and other local spaces.
I’ll be providing free ear health checks, with the option to book in for ear irrigation if needed—no pressure at all, just friendly, professional advice and support 👂💙
My aim is to make ear care more accessible and convenient for people locally.
If you’re based in East Lothian and know of any venues, groups, or organisations that might be interested (or if you run one!), please comment below or send me a message—I’d love to connect.
Thank you!

🌿 Exciting Community Event – Free Ear Checks Available! 👂
I’m delighted to be taking part in the upcoming Cakes & Conversations event on Saturday 2nd May at 11:30am at Gullane Recreational Hall, as part of the More to Life Festival focusing on health and wellbeing.

A big thank you to East Lothian Care for inviting me to be part of this wonderful community event 💚

I’ll be there representing East Coast Ear Care, offering FREE ear health checks and advice. As a registered nurse specialising in ear irrigation, I’m passionate about helping people look after their hearing and overall ear health.

This is a lovely opportunity to: ✨ Learn more about your ear health

There will also be a range of other organisations attending, so it’s a great chance to explore what’s available in our community.

🦻 Wax Build-Up or Eustachian Tube Dysfunction? I am seeing more people who believe they have a build-up of earwax, but their symptoms may actually be caused by Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD). The two can feel very similar — both may cause:

- Muffled or reduced hearing
- A sensation of fullness or pressure in the ear
- Occasional popping or crackling
- Discomfort or imbalance

However, the causes are different. Wax build-up blocks the ear canal, while ETD affects the small tube that connects the middle ear to the back of the nose. ETD is often linked to colds, allergies, or sinus issues.

If you’re unsure, a professional ear examination can help identify the cause and guide the right treatment. At East Coast Ear Care, we offer safe, mobile ear assessments and care across Edinburgh and the Lothians.
