Breast screening aims to find breast cancer at an early stage, often before there are any symptoms. Early detection may often mean simpler and more successful treatment.

A visit to a breast screening unit usually takes less than 30 minutes and the mammogram only takes a few minutes.

This Thursday we’re doing something a little different at our group.

We have a cooking class with Chef Dan 👨‍🍳 who will be cooking up a storm with a step-by-step tutorial 😋

Our Men’s session will run as normal from 6:15pm. If you want to learn to cook a proper curry, join Chef Dan at 5:00pm at Hodge House Community Centre.

The idea is to introduce cooking at home to the guys using fresh ingredients, teaching how to cook and save loads of money, better than takeaways and processed foods.

Benefits of cooking at home**:

Healthier meals with control over ingredients and portions

Cost savings compared to takeaway or pre-made meals

Skills that boost independence and confidence

Family or social bonding around shared meals

Routine and structure that can support mental wellbeing

Therapeutic benefits**:

Cooking can provide a calming, focused activity that reduces stress

Creates a sense of achievement and purpose
Opportunity to practice mindfulness and problem-solving in a practical setting

Positive social connection, reducing isolation and boosting mood

See you on Thursday 🙂

Ps it's definitely 5pm start for the cooking class not 5.30pm as it states on the poster.
