With the Easter bank holidays coming up, GP practices and many pharmacies will be closed or running reduced hours.

If you take regular medication, please check what you have now and order your repeat prescription in good time. This helps you avoid running out and reduces pressure on urgent services over the holiday weekend.

Joining presenter Shakil Salam at 4pm will be guests Zoe Bell and Ummul Fayyaz who are both Social Prescribing Link Workers at BPR CVS. They will be talking about social prescribing and how it supports wellbeing in our communities to celebrate ‘National Social Prescribing Day’.

Social prescribing is a key component of Universal Personalised Care. It is an approach that connects people to activities, groups, and services in their community to meet the practical, social and emotional needs that affect their health and wellbeing.

In social prescribing, local agencies such as local charities, social care and health services refer people to a social prescribing link worker who then give people time, focusing on ‘what matters to me?’ to coproduce a simple personalised care and support plan, and support people to take control of their health and wellbeing.

Social prescribing link workers also support existing community groups to be accessible and sustainable, and help people to start new groups, working collaboratively with all local partners.

Tuesday 31st March 6:00pm till 10:00pm – UV Sports and Games
Wednesday 1st April 6:00pm till 10:00pm – Barnoldswick Inflatable Sports
Thursday 2nd April 12:30pm till 5:30pm – Youth on Ice

These activities are open to young people aged 11 to 16 who are attending secondary school.
