GEL's expertise and 'preferred supplier' status also extends into other world-wide precision engineering industries and GEL's portfolio includes sole supply agreements with multinational companies, whilst still servicing local needs. GEL can accommodate a full range of new product development services from simple profiling to full design and build. GEL can offer a multitude of engineering processes and skills, from:
• Concept through design and detail
• Machining (3D)
• Laser profiling (3D and welding robotics)
• Large deep drawn pressing, forming, fabricating (a variety of welding processes)

What a fantastic two days we’ve had with our apprentices at Graham Engineering Ltd.

Normally based full time at college, we brought them in to experience hands-on engineering in a real-world environment. Over the two days, they had the opportunity to meet the wider team, tour the factory and see live production in action, giving them valuable time in the workplace they’ll soon be part of.

To add a bit of fun (and healthy rivalry), we set up a practical challenge between the apprentices. Their work was assessed by Ian Fraser, Jason Harrop and Adam Chilton, who were all impressed by their effort and enthusiasm.

It was a brilliant way to connect classroom learning with real-life application, and we look forward to welcoming them back.

We’re proud to celebrate another fantastic achievement at Graham Engineering Ltd.

Congratulations to Adam Chilton, who has successfully completed the TWI Diploma in Welding Engineering at Specialist Level, achieving International Welding Specialist (IWS) and European Welding Specialist (EWS) certification.

Adam’s progression from the shop floor into specialist welding roles reflects both his personal commitment and our focus on developing technical expertise across the business. This latest qualification further strengthens our welding capability and the high standards our customers expect.

Adam is also currently studying for a HNC Level 4 in Mechanical Engineering and is set to progress to Welding Technologist level in early 2026.

Well done, Adam. We’re proud to support your continued development.

Today, Adam Burrows shared his end of year update with the team at Graham Engineering Ltd.

During the update, Adam reflected on his first few months in the business, taking the opportunity to thank everyone for their support and commitment. He also spoke about the success of the recent Christmas Party, the first of many, and shared his ambition to build on its success for future events driven by the team.

Looking ahead to the new year, Adam outlined our focus on driving sales growth while continuing to deliver the high standards of quality our customers expect. He reinforced the importance of everyone playing their part as we move forward together.

Centre the business around four key divisions that drive the business forward, whilst being underpinned by HSE, Quality and People.

Each area will play a vital role in supporting growth and long-term success. Adam is looking forward to the future and what that growth will look like for GEL.

The update concluded with a festive raffle, with all staff included in the draw and a range of prizes handed out. One of the standout moments of the day was Adam thanking the team, only to receive a heartfelt thank you in return and a well deserved round of applause.

A great way to close the year, recognising teamwork, shared ambition and the people who make GEL what it is.

Burnley College staff and students were proud to attend the TWI North Western Branch Annual Dinner, hosted by TWI and Graham Engineering Ltd This incredible event brought together local businesses in the sector to celebrate, connect and raise funds for the charity, GEM Appeal.

It was also a fantastic opportunity to shine a spotlight on the achievements of the next generation of welders, trained through our full-time courses, adult evening classes and apprenticeships.

A fantastic evening last night of festive celebrations at the Graham Engineering Ltd Christmas Party. It was a brilliant opportunity to reflect on a successful year, enjoy time together and recognise the people who make GEL the business it is. With strong momentum carrying us forward, we are already looking ahead to an exciting year in 2026.

We also took the time to 🏆celebrate 46 years of service with Tony Gildea. Adam Burrows presented Tony with a retirement award after an extraordinary 46 years of service! Tony’s dedication, hard work and commitment have been welcomed during Graham Engineering’s journey.

A heartfelt poem written and read by Ian Fraser added a special touch to the celebration and the team came together to wish Tony a very happy and well deserved retirement.

✨ A memorable night marked by appreciation, team spirit and a shared sense of optimism for the year ahead.

Pendle Business Awards 2025

The 1st award of the evening went to Jayden Fitton of Graham Engineering who won The Apprentice of the Year! Robert Perry also of Graham Engineering reached the final of this award.

Pictured is Jayden and Robert with certificates of their achievements along with Adrian Smith CEO of Graham Engineering. Adrian commented, “what a fantastic achievement it is to have two fantastic apprentices in the final of such a prestigious award, and to win the award in consecutive years proves that the company is at the forefront in the area for apprenticeships.”
