A fantastic success story for Graham Engineering Ltd and an inspiring milestone for Tyler Manton.

After facing redundancy, Tyler made the courageous decision to return to education and invest in his future. At 32, he completed the Skills Bootcamp in Welding at Burnley College, and that determination has paid off in a big way.

Tyler is now thriving in a fast‑paced, technically challenging role where he’s already putting his new skills to work and building a career he’s passionate about.

Skills Bootcamps are fully funded, flexible programmes designed to help people retrain, upskill and step confidently into new opportunities. Tyler’s journey shows exactly what’s possible when talent, ambition and the right training come together.

A brilliant achievement and a great example of industry and education working hand in hand to create real impact.

Great to have you as part of Tyler.

🤝 Hands-On Innovation with TWI NorthWest and Fronius Welding.

Yesterday we hosted a focused technical session as part of the TWI NorthWest Branch, welcoming the team from Fronius on site to showcase their latest welding equipment.

It was a fantastic opportunity to get up close with their latest Fortis welding equipment and test out its capabilities firsthand. While the virtual simulator sparked debate (some still prefer the traditional feel!), it was clear this is a powerful tool for training and development in the welding sector.

Our team got hands-on, learning about the latest technology and gaining valuable experience with new methods.

A big thank you to Fronius for the demo and to the TWI NorthWest Branch members who joined us – great to connect and share knowledge.

National Apprenticeship Week 2026 is a great opportunity to celebrate the future of engineering and the people building it.

Apprenticeships are a cornerstone of how we develop skills for life and create long term careers in manufacturing.

This week, we were proud to celebrate five apprentices who have successfully completed their apprenticeship standards across CNC machining and welding. Joined by our senior leadership and development teams, we took the time to recognise their hard work, commitment and progression, marking an important milestone in each of their careers.

Congratulations to:

Jayden Fitton
Oliver Taylor
Michael Windle
Louise Berry
Wesley Beale

From CNC machining to welding, these apprentices have developed strong technical foundations that support some of the UK’s most highly regulated industries. Their success reflects not only their own dedication, but also the importance of investing in people and providing real opportunities to grow.

We are incredibly proud of what they have achieved and excited to see where their careers take them next.

A brilliant evening at Nelson and Colne College careers event and great to be part of such a well-run and inspiring occasion.

We had the opportunity to speak to some fantastic young people, potential future apprentices and families exploring what a career in engineering could look like. Huge thanks to Chris Precious, Leanne Khawaja and the wider team for putting together such a professional and welcoming event.

🤩 A special mention goes to our Year 1 apprentices, who were outstanding. Two were scheduled to attend… then two more called up and asked if they could come along too – simply because they wanted to be there.

They were enthusiastic, honest and engaging – and showed exactly what real advocacy looks like. 👏

💙 We’re proud of the team, and proud of what the next generation is bringing to Graham Engineering Ltd.
