Today, July 17th 2.00pm meeting of the Surgery’s Patient Participation Group at The Warren Public House. Patients of the surgery welcome to come along and see what the Group’s about. However, the Group is not about bringing our individual gripes and moans along. It is about positively and constructively helping the Surgery. Due to illness the PPG MEETING scheduled for 23rd June at the Assembly Rooms, New Romney has had to be postponed. A new date will be posted in the near future.

Meanwhile if you’d like to support the surgery by becoming a member of the Patient Participation Group please email revsheila25@sky.com or post a note to the Practice Manager at the surgery giving your contact details and giving the Manager permission to pass the contact details onto the Chairperson of the Group.

The Oak Hall Surgery PPG are looking for lively people who care about the surgery to come and join the PPG!
Sadly due to illness and family commitments we have lost a few members ( very careless of us)

We are now a committee of 5 and would love to be 8-10 people on the committee.

We are a very friendly group all new members are made very welcome it does not involve any real work, (unless you are enthusiastic and slightly mad)

It’s supporting the surgery and it’s staff.

The meetings are at the moment one afternoon every 2 months for 2 hours approximately, tea, coffee and cake are provided.

NEW DOOR SYSTEM

A simple explanation of our new entry doors.

Before you buzz, pop your face covering on then buzz to enter, we can see you and speak to you if needed, the doors will open out, they are not fully operational yet as we are still waiting for the, swing arms, but soon will be!

Please see the information below from the surgery:

There is a shortage of antibiotics and some other medication.

If the Chemist does not have the item prescribed in stock please ask them to tell you or ask them to call the surgery with what they have in stock so we can change the prescription.

Network Marsh Services
Oak Hall Surgery is part of the Marsh Primary Care Network ( PCN) where a small group of local GP practices share a team of practitioners who support our medical and nursing staff, and bring their expertise to helping our patients.
More on the PCN another time.
Access is initially through a triage telephone call with the receptionists, or referral from the medical and nursing team.
Waiting to help you, the PCN has 5 pharmacists. These include an advanced clinical practitioner, 3 prescribers and a technician.
There are 2 first contact physiotherapists who offer both telephone and Face to Face appointments.
We have a social prescriber who can help with advice and support where there is no clinical input needed but patients have issues such as housing, care, isolation and other social problems.
There is also a care home visiting team which has 2 paramedics, 2 nurses, 1 health care assistant and an administrator.
Coming in the future will be a Home Visiting Assessment team of 2 paramedics.
Please assist the receptionists find the right support for you by giving them a brief explanation of the the help you need.

Oak Hall has a facelift - what can we do to help?
As we all know the beautiful Oak Hall building gives our team many challenges with lack of space and flexibility to offer patients and staff a safe environment. They have been working hard to try and redress some of these issues.
Building work continues on the back door, garden and waiting room areas. Up to 4 patients are currently able to wait inside.
An intercom through the panel to the receptionists will be in place and in the new porch electric doors, video entry and a new sash window are being constructed.
The cabin in the garden is being upgraded so that staff can use a computer, giving a more useful space.
We can help by continuing to make our initial requests via telephone so receptionists can triage and help you choose the appropriate clinician; signing in using the check in screen inside and phoning after 2pm for results and routine enquiries.
With so many changes there are bound to be glitches and we know all GP surgeries are struggling - so, as ever - Patients patience please!
