Measles – Don’t let your child catch it – get them vaccinated with the MMRV vaccine.

👩‍⚕️ Protect your children and other people against measles 💉

Measles is more than just a rash – it can cause serious health complications like pneumonia and meningitis. It can also lead long term health problems, such as persistent bronchitis, hearing and sight loss and seizures. Keep your children safe with the MMRV vaccine.

• Vaccination is crucial: Outbreaks occur when people aren’t vaccinated.
• Two doses for best protection: Ensure your child receives 2 doses of the MMRV vaccine for maximum safety
• Missed vaccines? It’s never too late! Contact your GP surgery to get your child vaccinated, regardless of their age
• Unsure of vaccination status? Check your child’s Red Book or speak to your GP surgery.

Let’s keep our families and communities’ measles-free, contact your GP surgery today.

🚧 Notice to Our Patients – Building Work in Progress 🚧

We’d like to let all our patients know that we will be having some improvement works carried out at the surgery over the coming weeks.

During this time, you may notice:
• A skip in the car park
• Builders working on site
• Some temporary mess or noise

Please rest assured that we are doing our very best to keep any disruption to a minimum and to ensure the surgery remains open and running as normal.

We kindly ask patients to take extra care when using the car park and entering/exiting the building while work is underway.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we make these improvements. We appreciate your support! 😊

⏰ Please arrive on time for your appointment ⏰

We kindly ask all patients to arrive on time for their appointments.

We understand it can be frustrating if a clinician is running behind. However, one of the main reasons appointments overrun is because patients arrive late. When this happens, it has a knock-on effect for everyone else booked in that session.

Our clinicians work very hard to keep to time while providing safe, thorough care to every patient. Your help by arriving on time (or a few minutes early) really does make a difference for everyone.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation

✨ Important Update for Parents and Carers ✨
From 1 January 2026, the MMRV vaccine will become part of the routine childhood immunisation schedule. This single vaccine helps protect children against:
✔️ Measles
✔️ Mumps
✔️ Rubella
✔️ Chickenpox (varicella)
If your child was born on or after 1 January 2025, they’ll be offered the MMRV vaccine at:
🍼 12 months – first dose
👶 18 months – second dose
This gives the best protection against all four illnesses.
You can find more information by scanning the QR code on the poster or visiting the link provided. If you have questions, please speak to your GP practice or check your child’s Red Book.
Keeping our children healthy and protected is a team effort 💙

Sherwood Forest Hospitals has declared a critical incident.
They are working hard to ensure patient safety and maintain essential services during this time. Please use NHS services wisely and only attend A&E for emergencies. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Sherwood Forest Hospitals has today declared a critical incident in response to the sustained pressure we continue to face across our hospitals, combined with the challenges we are experiencing with insufficient discharges to meet the demand of patients waiting to be admitted.

Here’s what we need you to do to help. If you think you need your NHS but it’s not an emergency, please:

• Think NHS111 first: You can visit 111.nhs.uk online or call 111 for advice on where to go to access the treatment you need.

• Seek advice from your local pharmacist, who may be able to help, including by suggesting over-the-counter treatments for many less serious conditions. Some local pharmacies are open out-of-hours: https://www.nhs.uk/service-search/pharmacy/find-a-pharmacy/

• Contact your GP team during their normal opening hours for all other conditions.

• Work with our hardworking teams to help your loved ones, who are ready to be discharged, to get home as soon as possible.

• Continue to attend appointments as planned unless we contact you.

• Only attend our Emergency Department if it is an emergency- please consider other treatment choices.

We sincerely apologise for the impact this is having. Despite the best efforts of our colleagues, we realise patient experience is not what we would want it to be.

We continue to ask everyone to treat our staff with kindness and respect as they continue to work to provide patients with the care they deserve and need.

We thank you for your ongoing support.

⏰ Missed Appointments = Missed Care
Every missed appointment costs valuable time and resources that could help another patient in need.
If you can’t attend your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer it to someone else.
Together, we can reduce wasted appointments and improve care for everyone. Thank you for your support!

Children under 6 are now routinely offered the MMRV vaccine as part of the NHS childhood vaccination programme.

MMRV replaces the existing MMR vaccine and adds protection against chickenpox, alongside measles, mumps and rubella.

You don’t need to do anything — your GP will contact you when your child is due.
