Oak Training

Oak Training Oak Training exists to provide a safe, conducive learning environment for young people in secondary education. Minimum group size is 25 students.

Oak Training was set up back in September 2008 when joint MD Mark Grant and John Clark saw a gap in the market for schools struggling to achieve the governments’ targets for students to obtain 5 GCSE. Oak Training implement a 7 day course for students to complete and at the end they are awarded with a level 2 qualification which is the equivalent to 2 ¼ GCSE B grade 103.5 SCAAT Points (Problem Solving 34.5 SCAAT Points, Working with Others 34.5 SCAAT Points, Improve own Learning 34.5 SCAAT Points)

The 7 day course is tailored depending on the school and the students and Oak Training pride themselves in the flexibility of the course which is an adaptable programme to meet the needs of the individual. The course is intense and students have a booklet to complete over the 7 days which is then sent through the moderation process to achieve the level 2 qualification. Each day students will face new challenges from making propelling vehicles, a Dragon Den task, first aid, through to employment skills. The challenges make the students demonstrate their ability to work on their own and as a team player. Oak Training is proud of the 100% completion rate they have to date. The programme is delivered over 8 days at a cost of £35 per day per learner. Two added value days are added to each group if required to ensure 100% pass rate.
