Having only had 1 follow up appointment since my operation, with someone who I'd never seen before & wasn't involved in my surgery; my 2nd follow up appointment being moved to another month away; and a hearing test showing no change in hearing, when the one positive I was clinging to was that I felt I'd had an improvement in my hearing - I'm struggling to remain positive.
My internal sounds have been unbearable today along with pulsatile Tinnitus & overwhelming fullness in my ear.
Im starting to feel my symptoms are worsening beyond how they were before surgery and have many questions & concerns I'd like to discuss, however my rescheduled appointment with my consultant, is now with "Specialist Registrar or (Team member)"
Up until 8 weeks ago, I'd have urged anyone suffering with SCDS to opt for surgery, now I would strongly recommend to proceed with caution.
I knew there was a possibility surgery wouldn't make things better & the potential it could make things worse, what I wasn't prepared for, was the lack of support after surgery.

I remember leaving the hospital the day I found out that others can't hear their eyes.
I messaged my friends who thought I was high.
It's not something you think of when it's something you've always heard so I always just assumed this was normal.
After finding out it wasn't normal, I became much more aware of my internal sounds than before.

Despite knowing exactly what to expect after surgery, it still took me by surprise that my face started to numb around an hour after returning to the ward.
The numbness spread over a few hours, then within 24hrs, it was back normal.
