SKIN MYTHS
Did you know, the claim that the skin absorbs 60% of everything that it comes into contact with, is actually a myth!?

The outermost layer of the skin, the Stratum Corneum, is a highly effective barrier that prevents most substances from passing through.
Most compounds in cosmetic skincare are designed to work locally, meaning they reach the epidermis, and are rarely absorbed into the dermal layers.

DOES THIS MEAN MY SKINCARE ISN'T WORKING?

No, but there is a difference between 'absorption' and 'pe*******on' that you need to be aware of.
✨Penetration explains when a substance passes through the Stratum Cornuem.
✨Absortion means a substance has entered the blood stream and circulates throughout the body.
Different skincare products are formulated to work at specific skin layers depending on the purpose intended.

For example, anti-ageing products often contain anti-oxidants that pe*****te the startum corneum to aid the breakdown of free radicals which prevents the breakdown of collagen.
And moisturisers are created to stay on or within the outer layers of the skin rather than pe*****te deeply!

Dear Clients, Paul Hill in Newlyn has temporary closures until 20th March for on going roadworks.
This is also affecting smaller roads around the area, so getting to me for your daytime appoinments could be cumbersome!

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES:
1. From Newlyn Cross, you can drive through the village and up Bowjey Hill, across into Gwavas and cut across the road in to Gurnick.

2. From Newlyn Cross, drive through Newlyn to Mousehole and go up Raginnis Hill, through Paul which take you to a juction at the top of Newlyn. You then take the right hand side road ( to Newlyn), then 1st left into Gurnick...(then 2nd left to me at Chyvellas Close).

Alternatively, PLEASE reschedule your appointment if you think you will be late, as I cannot fulfill late schedules, sorry😕
