What is “mummy anxiety"?

Mummy anxiety is that constant mental load that comes with caring deeply for your child. It’s the invisible pressure to always be “on,” always thinking ahead, always making sure everything is okay.

It can look like:
• Worrying about your child’s safety, health, or future
• Feeling overwhelmed by responsibility
• Struggling to switch off or relax
• Overthinking decisions (“Am I doing this right?”)
• Guilt for not being a “perfect” mum

At its core, mummy anxiety comes from love, but when it’s constant, it can feel exhausting.

There’s also an important difference:
When balanced, this can show up as healthy “mummy concern” being aware, caring, and protective.

But when our central nervous system becomes overloaded, that concern can tip into anxiety… and start to take a real toll on us mentally, emotionally, and physically.

The truth is:
