New Year = Healthier You 😊

Making changes can feel hard — but support makes all the difference. This New Year make a change and let US support YOU!

Our monthly Community Support Service begins again on WEDNESDAY 14th JANUARY 10.30-12.30 at The Courtenay Centre.

We are a primary care NHS wellbeing team with several specialist disciplines and bring together multiple professionals to provide a regular drop-in style service. We are very person centred and offer a friendly welcome, 121 introductions and a more private space if needed.

Support ranges from Carers, MH and employment to housing and benefits, and more!

For January we are pleased to also welcome Lisa from Stop For Life Devon and Charlotte from Together Devon Drug & Alcohol service.

As we head toward the New Year, it’s a natural time to reflect and consider fresh starts or new challenges to support better health ✨

If you need some fitness inspiration Newton Abbot have 2 running groups soon to start their Couch to 5k 🏃‍♀️

Maverick Runners start Tuesday 6th January 6.30pm. Free weekly sessions. See their page for more details.

As we move into the festive period, we’d like to wish everyone a peaceful Christmas and a healthy New Year.

However you’re spending this time...working, resting, with others or quietly, we hope you’re able to find moments of care, rest, and support that feel right for you.

Important Notice – Carol Service Cancellation ☔💨

Due to the current weather warning for heavy rain, we regret to inform you that the Mayors Carol Service this evening including Santa, live music, market stalls and town entertainment has been cancelled for safety reasons.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.
Shops in town will remain open till 8pm and parking is free in town centre TDC car parks from 4pm if you do have any last minute shopping to do.

Information for free food & goods support this Christmas ~ community larders, fridges and foodbanks ➡️

Christmas can be an expensive time of year, and we know there may be people struggling who need a little extra help.

Across Teignbridge and Devon, there are food banks, community fridges, and larders available to help those most in need.

Food banks provide basic stocks of food and provisions, free of charge and community fridges and larders offer food for free that would have otherwise gone to waste.

Teignbridge CVS has created a list of all food support available throughout Christmas. You can also find help and advice on our website.

Living with chronic pain, fatigue, or low-level anxiety/depression? You’re not alone. Join our FREE friendly, practical HOPE (Help Overcoming Problems Effectively) course to learn new tools, share experiences, and build confidence—together.

📅 Starts: Tuesday 13th January 2026
🕐 Time: 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm
📍 Venue: Courtenay Centre, Newton Abbot
📆 Duration: 6 weeks (every Tuesday afternoon)

👥 Who it’s for: Adults living with long-term health challenges

🧭 What to expect:
• Weekly small-group sessions led by trained facilitators
• Simple strategies for pacing, sleep, mood, and goal-setting
• Peer support in a safe, non-judgemental space
• Practical resources to use at home
