By carrying out pelvic floor exercises, you can vastly decrease your risk of urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse following the birth of your little one.

🚽Did you know, how you sit on the toilet can have a big impact on your bowel.

🕵🏽Can you spot the differences between the images and see which version you are?

For an effective evacuation posture, place a wee stool under your feet and lean forward keeping your chest up.

Why?
👉🏼it actually straightens the re**um by relaxing the muscles that hold it in position
👉🏼helps to pass stool more smoothly
👉🏼feels comfortable and more natural

I’ve been asked about return to running after having a baby quite a bit recently so thought it was worth a post.

Returning to running after having a baby is not always straightforward.

As a pelvic health physiotherapist there is much to consider
👉🏼abdominal wall strength
👉🏼pelvic floor control and power
👉🏼glutes, hamstrings and quads strength
👉🏼breathing control and rib expansion
👉🏼any pelvic floor dysfunction symptoms

There is great evidence leading to quality guidelines to help progress to running after giving birth.

The main thing is understand your baseline. It will be vastly different from your pre-pregnancy baseline.
