A REMINDER ABOUT PRESCRIPTIONS

In three weeks it will be Christmas! The two-day holiday falls on a Thursday and Friday so in the week before Christmas Practice Administrators will need to do 5 days work in only 3! In addition GP Surgeries and some Pharmacies may also remain closed until the following Monday. If you expect to renew your prescriptions between now and Christmas, please plan to do so in good time rather than at the last minute. Whilst the normal limit for re-orders is less than 7 days in advance in circumstances such as these you can make a special request more than 7 days ahead by putting your requirements in the notes section of either the Airmid® or NHS® app. on your phone, or via the SystmOnline® link on the prescriptions page of your Practice’s website.

Danes Camp and Rillwood Medical Centre are Supporting the OPTIMISE2 Study

We are pleased to be taking part in OPTIMISE2, exploring whether deprescribing (stopping) common drugs that lower blood pressure is safe or effective in older people in the longer term (a year or more).

Patients aged 75 or over, with normal blood pressure, and taking two or more blood pressure medications may receive an invitation to join the study.

If you choose to take part, you will attend visits at the practice and complete a few questionnaires. The research team will guide you through every step.

For more information, please contact the study team at:

Danes Camp and Rillwood Medical Centre Joins the Genes & Health Study!

This important project aims to improve health outcomes among people of British-Bangladeshi and British-Pakistani heritage by analysing the genes and health data of more than 100,000 volunteers.

By taking part, participants will help researchers better understand how genes influence health and disease, leading to earlier diagnoses, improved treatments, and better healthcare for our communities.
