Autumn has fully arrived 🍂 🍃 🍁

Different seasons resonate with different people. I love the colours and fresher air of autumn, wrapping up in many layers, and getting cosy in the evening.
The sound in the countryside changes throughout the year, and now I hear the sounds more muffled and softer.

I love travelling down to for shiatsu clients, watching all the colours, reds, dark greens, rust browns, and yellows lick through the landscape.

Why train with me?
I connect to Vanda Scaravelli’s approach - move with the breath, use gravity, find space in and around the waist, and find this tree like nature to be as we move through asana work.

The course weaves together Chinese Medicine and the 5 Elements to the whole year of training

The course is there to cultivate you’re style and interest in what you, as a teacher want to teach, and build confidence in your practice and teaching skills

As well as offering an online in-depth Holistic Anatomy course, online resources

Over the years I’ve cultivated a practice of watching, observing, and witnessing. This was difficult for me years ago to be still (sometimes still is!) but to find this time to see, watch and notice has benefited me hugely in many ways. Of course this is a continuing practice.

“Watch,” “observe,” and “witness” are all words that mean to be aware of or focused on something that is seen or heard. “Witness” can also mean to be present for an event and be able to describe it as evidence.

To see something, especially something that is happening in the present

Observe
To watch something carefully and attentively

Witness
To be present for something and be able to describe it as evidence, in any process

🌟 Notice your body

You can sit in a chair with your feet on the floor, you can sit loosely cross-legged, you can kneel—all are fine. Just make sure you are stable and in a position you can stay in for a little while.

🌟 Feel your breath

Follow the sensation of your breath as it goes in and as it goes out.

🌟 Notice when your mind has wandered

Inevitably, your attention will leave the breath and wander to other places. When you get around to noticing that your mind has wandered—in a few seconds, a minute, five minutes—simply return your attention to the breath.

🌟 Be kind to your wandering mind

Don’t judge yourself or obsess over the thoughts’ content you find yourself lost in. Just come back. Come back to your breath.

🌟Close with kindness

When you’re ready, gently lift your gaze (if your eyes are closed, open them). Take a moment and notice any sounds in the environment. Notice how your body feels right now. Notice your thoughts and emotions.
