MHA Cromwell House

MHA Cromwell House Cromwell House is a purpose built, fresh, modern, care home offering residential and respite care for 38 residents. All bedrooms have en suite facilities.

Residents are welcome to bring their own furniture to personalise their rooms if they wish. Since 1969, Cromwell House has cared for older people in central Norwich. Our attractive home has 38 en suite bedrooms, landscaped gardens, and a “warm, happy and supportive” atmosphere, as described by the care regulator. Our Activities Co-ordinator organises a range of events around residents’ hobbies and interests, including outings using our minibus. Meanwhile, our Chaplain offers spiritual support however people might require it. We are part of MHA, the national older people’s charity. This week we enjoyed a calm and creative afternoon making beautiful Spirograph designs. 🌀 With soft music playing, a warm cup of tea in hand, and plenty of colours to choose from, everyone let their imagination flow! 🎶☕🎨

​It was fantastic seeing so many of you enjoying the hotdogs, waving those glowing sticks, and looking up at the spectacular fireworks display!

🔊Wonderful News from Cromwell House! 🌱🌎

We’re so proud to share that we took part in the MHA in Bloom competition under the Sustainable Project Award, and we’re delighted to say that we won a National Garden Gift Voucher! 🏆🌸

Our residents and team have loved getting involved in all things green. From planting in recycled pots and making our own compost, to recycling water and caring for our garden together. 💚

A huge thank you to our amazing handyman Julius for all their hard work with the compost boxes and keeping our garden thriving! 🌻

Over the next few months, we’ll be using our prize to make our outdoor spaces even more special — and we can’t wait to show you how these gifts help create more Meaningful Moments for everyone here at Cromwell House. 🌼🌱

🕯️ All Hallows’ Day Reflection 🕯️

Our residents gathered for a meaningful time of reflection with our chaplain. Together, we remembered those who sadly departed from this world over the year, sharing stories, memories, and moments of gratitude for their lives. 💛

Each name was lovingly written on a paper flower, which opened gently in water, a beautiful symbol of remembrance and peace. 🌼✨

It was a touching memorial service and a lovely opportunity to honour and keep close the memories of those we miss.

🎃 Spooktacular Fun at Cromwell House! 👻

We had a fang-tastic time celebrating Halloween at Cromwell House! Everyone joined in the fun, making creative Halloween hats, playing “Splat the Spider,” and going trick-or-treating around the rooms. 🍬🕷️

A big thank you to our Friend in Deed's visitor for the materials for making the hats, and to the lovely relative (and her adorable baby!) for the special homemade cupcakes, they were a real treat! 🧁🧡

🎳🏆 Carpet Bowls Tournament with Laurel Lodge!

What a fantastic day we had joining our neighbours from Laurel Lodge for a friendly (but fiercely competitive!) carpet bowls tournament! 😄

We made new friends who share the same passion for the game, and the matches were full of skill, laughter, and good sportsmanship. The competition was so close it ended in a draw, leaving our activities coordinators to battle it out in a nail-biting final round!

Looking forward to the next one already!

🇩🇪 Oktoberfest at Cromwell House! 🍂🍺🎶

What a wunderbar day we had celebrating Oktoberfest with our lovely residents! 🥨 From delicious traditional German food (huge thanks to our amazing chef! 👨‍🍳👏), to practicing fun German phrases and enjoying festive music and decorations, the spirit of Oktoberfest was truly alive in our home.

A heartfelt thank you to all the staff and volunteers who made the event so special, both before and during the celebration, helped create wonderful memories for everyone. 💙

What better way to spend a rainy day.....with a paint brush of course!

Our Maintenance Operative, Julius has lots of decorating skills under his belt and is embarking on a home improvement mission.

He has already started painting some doors in the entrance hall, and plans are being made to add colour very soon!

He will also be focusing on skirting boards and doorways in the next few weeks too, making everything look like new!

We love what Julius has done with our visitors facilities and can't wait to see what's next! 👀👏

We’re getting ready for our Christmas Raffle and we need your help to make it extra special!

We’re looking for donations of prizes – big or small – such as:
✨ Gift vouchers
🍫 Chocolates or sweet treats
🍾 Bottles or hampers
🎁 Small gifts or festive goodies

All donations will go towards our Christmas Raffle, with proceeds supporting our Residents’ Amenities Fund, helping us provide special treats, trips, and activities throughout the year.
