Rearing & Schooling

Dunham Greyhound Centre is the home of trainer Jane Houfton & her experienced team.

At Dunham we have exceptional facilities that include our own purpose built track, 350m grass gallop (that is watered & maintained) large grass paddocks, luxury kennels & treatment equipment.

The track itself is an elite schooling/trialling track, 1100 tonnes of top quality WBB silica sand has been laid to give an outstanding running surface that stands up to the British weather, we employ a full-time grounds man & pride ourselves on the way the track runs & looks.

We are situated in the open countryside on the border between Nottinghamshire & Lincolnshire close to the A1 making it easy for you to visit.

Dogs placed with us for rearing & schooling are handled & exercised every day. They are checked for soundness both on arrival & after every gallop or trial. Trials are digitally ray timed with sectional as well as finish time. This gives you the chance to monitor your dog’s progress. Jane will keep you fully informed by text or email after every trial. Best of all you can be assured that your dog will live in a happy environment, be treated with affection & kindness & be given a platform for him/her to reach their full potential. GTA TRAINERS CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING 2017



The GTA and Towcester Racecourse are delighted to announce the 2017 GTA Trainers Championship meeting will be held at Towcester on March 28th, live on Sky Sports, with the traditional gala luncheon at Towcester Racecourse in the week preceding.



Given Towcester's recent announcement that it will be host to the 2017 Greyhound Derby, this will provide an ideal opportunity to trial and race the best dogs ahead of the Derby at one of sport’s most high profile meetings.



The GTA are pleased to build on the last two years GTA Trainers Championship meeting successes and Towcester's state of the art centrally located stadium should make for a very special evening of highly competitive enjoyable racing for owners, trainers, staff and greyhound racing fans alike.



The GTA received overwhelming feedback from trainers that they would prefer the meeting to take place later in the year to maximise the quality and appeal of the event, and Towcester have managed to secure the March date with the assistance of the team at Sky Sports.



There will be a total prize purse in excess of £30,000 up for grabs on the evening, making the GTA Trainers Championship one of the richest nights in UK greyhound racing and it promises to be an evening of pulsating action and drama as the best trainers and greyhounds in the country go head to head.
