Absolutely loved this episode with Alain de Botton and Jamie Lang! 💛 Alain has this amazing way of making complex ideas fascinating but totally digestible — I’ve listened to so many of his shows and they’re always brilliant.
In this one, they dive into friendships, starting with male friendships, fears around vulnerability and sexuality, and how to build deeper, more meaningful connections. With men’s su***de rates so high, learning to communicate better with friends isn’t just important — it’s essential.
They also talk about how some friendships ending isn’t always a bad thing and share ways we can be better friends. This episode really reminded me of the power of vulnerability: opening up, asking questions, and taking small risks can lead to richer, more fulfilling relationships.
Highly recommend — adding this one to my podcast highlights for sure! 🎧 Go ahead and give it a listen 👆

Expertise matters, but presence matters more. Therapy is not about applying techniques to people; it is about meeting another human being with humility, empathy, and respect. I want people to come to therapy knowing they will be met as a whole person — not a problem to be fixed — because healing begins when we feel genuinely seen and understood.
