Announcing the last in our series of workshop leaders... Laura Bryan from Moving Together, Leicester 🥳

Laura will be leading our Big Boogie morning warm up! She is Practitioner Lead with Moving Together and she is passionate about creating community and making healthy, happy spaces to move in — whether that’s through the Keep Moving Collective for adults who love creative dance and performing, or the Adult Keep Moving classes across the East Midlands where the focus is fun, wellbeing and feeling good through movement.

Laura has been a dancer her whole life, teaching during the week and performing (and even fire breathing!) at the weekends — living the best of both worlds. She trained in Contemporary dance at De Montfort University, graduating with first-class honours before completing her Masters Degree in Digital Art, where she explored the relationship between AI and dance film. After finding school and academia tough, dance has always been her superpower — and it’s never let her down.

The warm up will start with a fun icebreaker game to get everyone connected. Then it’s straight into movement powered by absolute bangers to wake us all up for the day! She'll be leading simple, feel-good repetitive routines that are great for both body and mind — energising, uplifting, and guaranteed to make you smile. Expect some low-impact cardio to get the blood flowing, with plenty of stretching woven in so you feel ready to dive into the festival!

*Our dancing days: we’re here*
What eleven years as member of an elders’ dance company meant to me. And how the growing presence of ‘older people dancing’ now begins to question how we view dance, ageing and being people together in the world.
