“Meet Cartoon Karen – Physio Edition! 😄”

Serendipitous for the win!

Our lead picked up a cleaner whilst doing her home visits today.

One of her regular patients had their in at the same time and Karen has been looking to find someone to manage her house whilst she's out at other people's for some time.

The patient gave them a glowing reference, and their work was evident and now the cleaner has another customer on her books and starts cleaning Karen's house next week.

Always great to welcome new people to the class

We’re welcoming two new patients to our Beeston class this week.

Our group class improves mobility by addressing through respiratory tackling the day to day issues that living with and other lung complaints brings.

In turn this enables improved mobility and a better quality of life.

By running a class we enable patients to know and support each other as well as keeping the costs low.

Many of our patients come to us to continue treatment after completing the limited treatment period the is able to provide.

Did you know that a brand new treatment for bronchiectasis could be available within the next few years?

Thanks to Professor James Chalmers, the landmark new drug – brensocatib – could be in people’s hands as early as 2026. s the first new treatment for bronchiectasis and it could help the 1.3 million people in the UK living with the lung condition.

Once it’s approved by NICE, people with bronchiectasis will be able to take a simple tablet to help treat and manage their condition – stopping them from struggling to breathe.

But too many people are waiting years for a diagnosis – and without one, they miss the chance to access life-changing treatment.

Head to our website to find out on how we’re working hard to improve diagnosis so that people have access to the right care and treatments as early as possible: https://orlo.uk/zd0QB

New horizons

It’s a bit cloudy out on our restorative walk this evening, but the future for BlueRose Healthcare Ltd looks very bright.

We’re walking off our nervous excitement at having been approached this morning by the NHS for an in-house advertising and endorsement partnership in one of their hospitals for our services which we signed up to and agreed this evening.

Happy days!!🍾🥂

A reason to hum in the shower

A reason to hum in the shower

Studies have revealed that humming significantly increases nitric oxide production by the brain with some studies showing an incredible 1400% increase in just 10 seconds.

Nitric oxide is a gas that acts as a crucial chemical messenger in the body, primarily by relaxing blood vessels to improve blood flow and blood pressure. This gas is produced in the brain, where it is synthesized by different cell types, including neurons, glial cells, and endothelial cells lining blood vessels.

Humming increases nitric oxide production by using oscillating airflow to improve gas exchange between the paranasal sinuses, which produce nitric oxide, and the nasal cavity.

Increased nitric oxide production is excellent for your health as it relaxes and widens blood vessels, which improves blood flow, lowers blood pressure and delivers more oxygen and nutrients to muscles and organs. This leads to benefits like improved cardiovascular health, better exercise performance and recovery, enhanced brain function and a stronger immune response.

NOTE: In my fact checking this, the AI Overview on google said “this claim is an exaggeration, nitric oxide production is increased by 15 fold not 1400%”… 15 fold is 1400% so just shows you can’t always trust AI…

💪 Muscles: Your Body’s Secret Immune Factory! 🧪

We usually think of muscles as just for moving — but they’re also busy making myokines (tiny superhero messengers that help your immune system stay sharp 🦸‍♀️).

When you move, your muscles send these “feel-good immune texts” around your body saying:

“Hey immune cells — wake up, we’ve got work to do!” 📱🧬

Even gentle activity — like a walk, stretch, or a few sit-to-stands — can boost your body’s own internal defence system 💛

So yes, that morning stretch totally counts as science! 😄

🧠 Your Immune System: The Body’s Personal Security Team 🛡️

Think of your immune system as the world’s grumpiest bouncer — always checking ID and kicking out unwanted germs.

So next time you sneeze — remember, your body’s security team is on it (just maybe a bit understaffed on Mondays). 😷💛

But even the best bouncers need support 👇
