Nature in Mind

Nature in Mind Nature In Mind draws on the unique capacity of nature to restore and improve mental and physical health.

A growing body of evidence shows that spending time in natural and green spaces can
• reduce stress and anxiety
• reduce levels of depression
• improve physical health
• improve mood and self esteem
• help to reduce the need for medication
• help to overcome isolation and social exclusion

The new service is aimed at people over 18 with mental health needs who live in Nottingham. Activities take place in small supportive groups and include walking in nature, gardening, conservation, wildlife identification, arts and crafts, visits to gardens, farms and nature reserves. The team is aiming to work closely with health sector partners to enable more people to access and benefit from the service.
